About The Role

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team at Rivulet IQ. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in backend WordPress development, with a focus on custom theme and plugin creation, troubleshooting, and optimization. This role involves translating client requirements into robust, standards-compliant code, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across multiple projects.

The developer will work closely with project managers and delivery leads to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within scope. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess at least six years of hands-on experience in WordPress backend development, demonstrating a strong command of PHP, MySQL, and WordPress core functionalities. Proven experience in custom theme and plugin development is essential,



along with solid knowledge of REST API integrations and version control systems like Git. Familiarity with frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery is required to support frontend implementations.

Experience working with WooCommerce, page builders like Elementor, and understanding hosting environments and server configurations are highly desirable. Candidates should have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.

Responsibilities

- Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins using PHP, hooks, filters, and actions to meet project requirements.
- Write clean, well-documented, and standards-compliant code for new builds and ongoing site enhancements.
- Diagnose and resolve backend issues, including plugin conflicts, PHP errors, and performance bottlenecks, across staging and production environments.
- Implement security best practices during development to protect sites from vulnerabilities.
- Optimize code and database queries to improve site performance and user experience.
- Integrate third-party services such as REST APIs, payment gateways, and CRMs into WordPress environments, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Support WooCommerce-based sites, including product configuration, checkout customization,



and order management logic.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for custom code, site configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Track and manage tasks using project management tools like Orbit, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools such as ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot to enhance development efficiency, debugging, and documentation processes.
