Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (test automation) _ Wireless Connected Device Software

Location: On-site, Hsinchu, Taiwan

Contract: 2 years contract

SDET — Wireless Connected Device Software_ Wireless domain expertise required

This is an on-site consulting engagement supporting the software team responsible for the firmware and software running on a family of Linux-based connected consumer devices. The team owns the integration work that brings the endpoint and gateway components together into a working end-to-end system, including the wireless connectivity stack.

The consultant will embed in office in Hsinchu and work directly alongside the client's engineering team. The overriding qualification is hands-on domain knowledge in wireless communications and wireless testing.

Responsibilities

- Design, build,



and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites for firmware and software running on Linux-based embedded devices.
- Develop test tooling for wireless protocol validation, radio behavior, connectivity, and system-level integration across endpoint and gateway components.
- Automate regression, stress, and interoperability testing and integrate it into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Instrument the system to capture logs, metrics, and failures, and improve test coverage and reliability over time.
- Work closely with the firmware and software engineers to reproduce, isolate, and drive defects to resolution.

Skills Required:

- Hands-on domain knowledge in wireless communications — protocols, RF behavior, connectivity, and wireless test methodology (for example BLE, sub-GHz / LoRa-class radios, Wi-Fi, or similar).
- Strong test-automation and software development skills, typically in Python and/or C/C++, including framework and tooling development.
- Experience testing firmware or software on Linux-based embedded devices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration.
- Able to work on-site in Hsinchu and collaborate directly with an in-house engineering team.

Nice to have:
- Experience with low-power wide-area, mesh,



or similar wireless connectivity ecosystems.
- Experience with connected consumer device or IoT programs (smart home, wearables, embedded systems).
- Familiarity with RF test equipment and protocol analyzers.
- Working proficiency in Mandarin for on-site collaboration (English working proficiency required).
