About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Web & Video Player Engineer to join our dynamic team remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance video playback solutions across web and Connected TV platforms.

You will work closely with product managers, backend engineers, and UI/UX designers to deliver seamless streaming experiences that meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Your expertise in JavaScript and web video technologies will be crucial in troubleshooting playback issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring a smooth user experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of streaming technology by building scalable, resilient, and cutting-edge video players for diverse devices and platforms.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of web development experience with a strong focus on JavaScript and video playback technologies.



Proven experience in developing and maintaining video players for web and Connected TV platforms is essential.

You should have hands-on expertise with streaming frameworks such as Bitmovin, JW Player, HLS.js, or Shaka, including tuning and troubleshooting live streaming scenarios. A deep understanding of streaming protocols, live playback concepts like latency and drift, ABR algorithms, and DRM integration is required. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are necessary to collaborate effectively within remote teams.

The ability to work independently in a fast-paced workplace and adapt to changing priorities is highly valued.

Responsibilities

- Design, architect, and implement advanced video player features across web and Connected TV platforms including Chromecast, Xbox, Samsung Tizen, LG, Vizio, and cable boxes.
- Develop and optimize video player components leveraging frameworks such as Bitmovin, JW Player, HLS.js, or Shaka, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve playback issues such as rebuffering, latency, startup delays, and live streaming challenges to enhance user experience.
- Analyze player performance metrics and QoE data to identify issues and implement improvements for real-world playback quality.
- Contribute to multi-device playback solutions, including React Native implementations for CTV and other platforms.
- Create automated tests, including unit and end-to-end testing,



to ensure the reliability of playback features.
- Integrate with RESTful APIs and backend services to support seamless streaming and playback functionalities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using agile methodologies to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Document technical specifications, playback protocols, and troubleshooting guides to facilitate team knowledge sharing and onboarding.
