Mishtighar is an FMCG D2C brand focused on delivering high-quality food products to customers through ecommerce channels. As we continue to scale, we are looking for an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to take ownership of our end-to-end warehouse and fulfilment operations in Kolkata.

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on and process-driven Warehouse Operations Manager who can independently manage the day-to-day functioning of the warehouse while ensuring high standards of inventory accuracy, order fulfilment, dispatch efficiency, hygiene, safety and manpower productivity.

The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, FMCG, D2C, e-commerce, with robust experience in managing teams and high-volume inventory movement.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Warehouse Operations

- Manage complete warehouse operations including inward, receiving, GRN, put-away, storage, picking, packing, dispatch and returns.
- Ensure smooth and timely movement of inventory across all warehouse processes.
- Maintain proper warehouse layout, binning, SKU identification and space utilisation.
- Ensure adherence to defined SOPs and operational processes.

2. Inventory Management & Control

- Maintain high inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, physical stock audits and reconciliation.
- Monitor stock levels, ageing, damages, shortages, excess inventory and discrepancies.
- Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices, particularly for food and FMCG products.
- Investigate inventory mismatches and implement corrective and preventive actions.




- Maintain accurate records of SKU-wise and batch-wise inventory.

3. D2C Order Fulfilment & Dispatch

- Ensure timely processing and dispatch of D2C, marketplace and other customer orders.
- Monitor daily order volumes, pending orders, dispatch TAT and fulfilment accuracy.
- Coordinate with courier and logistics partners to ensure smooth handover and timely movement of shipments.
- Monitor RTOs, returns, replacements, damages and delivery-related discrepancies.
- Ensure peak-period and promotional-sale readiness.

4. Team & Manpower Management

- Lead, train and supervise warehouse executives, supervisors, pickers, packers, loaders and other warehouse staff.
- Allocate daily responsibilities and monitor manpower productivity.
- Manage attendance, shift planning, discipline and performance.
- Ensure the team follows warehouse SOPs, safety standards and hygiene practices.

5. Logistics & Vendor Coordination

- Coordinate with courier partners, transporters, 3PL partners and other logistics vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance, service levels and operational issues.
- Resolve delays, shortages, damages and shipment-related escalations.
- Ensure timely vehicle planning, loading and dispatch wherever applicable.

6. MIS & Performance Monitoring

- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly warehouse MIS.
- Track key operational KPIs such as:
- Inventory accuracy
- Order fulfilment accuracy
- Dispatch TAT
- Picking & packing productivity




- Stock variance
- Damage/shortage percentage
- RTO and return rates
- Manpower productivity
- Analyse operational data and identify areas for improvement.

7. Process Improvement & Cost Optimisation

- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Improve warehouse productivity, space utilisation and manpower efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to reduce wastage, damages, inventory loss and operational costs.
- Develop and implement effective warehouse SOPs as the business scales.

8. Hygiene, Safety & Compliance

- Maintain high standards of warehouse hygiene, cleanliness and safety.
- Ensure appropriate storage and handling of FMCG/food products.
- Maintain proper documentation and support internal/external stock audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable warehouse/food-handling requirements.

Requirements

- 5+ years of relevant experience in warehouse management, warehouse operations, FMCG, D2C, e-commerce, retail, distribution or 3PL.
- Prior experience in FMCG/food/D2C/e-commerce warehouse operations will be preferred.
- Graduate in any discipline; qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics or Operations is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, stock reconciliation, inward/outward processes, picking, packing and dispatch.
- Experience in managing and supervising warehouse teams.
- Working knowledge of WMS/ERP/inventory management systems.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets and MIS reporting.
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing D2C environment and take complete ownership of warehouse operations.
