Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and capable Project Leader Railway Projects to lead and coordinate multiple railway projects from planning through completion. The candidate will be responsible for managing project activities, coordinating with Railway Officers and other stakeholders, monitoring project progress, handling documentation and billing-related activities, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
Railway project experience is mandatory for this position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management
- Lead and manage multiple railway projects simultaneously.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor day-to-day project activities.
- Ensure projects are executed as per approved scope, timelines, quality requirements, and client instructions.
- Track project progress, identify delays/issues, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Coordinate with internal teams including engineering, survey, design, billing, documentation, and site teams.
2. Railway Coordination
- Coordinate directly with Railway Officers, SSEs, ADENs, DENs, AENs, DSTE/other concerned Railway officials, as applicable to the project.
- Attend meetings with Railway Officers and represent the company professionally.
- Maintain regular communication with Railway authorities regarding project progress, submissions, approvals, drawings, inspections, variations, and other project matters.
- Understand Railway procedures, correspondence requirements, and project approval processes.
3. Meetings & Daily Coordination
- Handle and coordinate day-to-day project meetings with clients, Railway Officers, consultants, and internal teams.
- Prepare meeting agendas, action points, and follow-up requirements.
- Ensure timely closure of decisions and pending issues discussed during meetings.
- Maintain regular project status updates for management.
4. Billing & Documentation
- Coordinate preparation and submission of running bills, final bills, measurement-related documents, invoices, supporting documents, and payment claims.
- Maintain proper billing and project documentation.
- Coordinate with the billing/accounts team for timely submission and follow-up of payments.
- Track pending bills, deductions, recoveries, variations, and payment-related issues.
- Ensure all project records and correspondence are properly maintained.
5. Project Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and review project reports, progress reports, correspondence, minutes of meetings, work programmes, and other project-related documents.
- Maintain records of approvals, submissions, Railway correspondence, drawings, reports, bills, and project deliverables.
- Provide regular project updates to senior management.
6. Team Management
- Guide and coordinate project engineers, survey teams, design teams, and other project personnel.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and deliverables.
- Resolve day-to-day coordination issues within the project team.
Mandatory Skills & Requirements
- Mandatory: Strong experience in Railway Projects.
- Proven experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of Railway project procedures and client coordination.
- Experience in billing documentation and project-related financial documentation.
- Ability to independently coordinate with Railway Officers and senior client representatives.
- Strong experience in conducting and handling day-to-day project meetings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project planning, coordination, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
- Ability to prepare professional official correspondence, reports, minutes, and project documentation.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
- M.Tech/MBA/Project Management qualification will be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in Railway consultancy, railway infrastructure, surveys, DPR, engineering consultancy, construction supervision, design coordination, or other Railway-related projects will be preferred.
