Role & responsibilities

Linux Administrator with minimum 5-7 years of expertise in managing, securing, and optimizing large-scale Linux environments. The role demands advanced troubleshooting, architectural input, automation, and leadership in supporting mission-critical enterprise infrastructure.

Preferred candidate profile

Advanced Administration & Troubleshooting Provide L2-level support for complex Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE) server issues. Analyze root causes for recurring incidents and propose permanent solutions. Ensure high availability and performance tuning of Linux systems. Contribute to architecture design and capacity planning for Linux environments. Define and enforce Linux system standards, security baselines, and patch management. Optimize system performance for enterprise workloads (databases, middleware, containers). Develop and maintain advanced automation using Ansible, Python, Bash, or Shell scripting.

Implement





Infrastructure as Code (IaC) where applicable (Terraform/CloudFormation).

Harden

Linux systems as per ISO 27001, CIS, or NIST benchmarks. Manage vulnerability remediation, patching, and compliance reporting. Work with InfoSec to implement monitoring, auditing, and log analysis. Cloud & Virtualization Integration Manage Linux workloads across on-premises (VMware) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). Support hybrid environments with containers (Docker, Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift). Collaboration & Leadership Provide technical mentorship to L1 Linux administrators. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DBAs, Network, Security, Application owners). Participate in change management and represent Linux in technical governance meetings.
