Job Purpose

To plan, coordinate, and deliver nursing education and training programs to ensure that nursing staff maintain high standards of clinical practice, patient safety, and professional competency.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and conduct induction and orientation programs for newly joined nursing staff.

- Identify training needs and prepare annual/monthly nursing education calendars.

- Conduct regular training programs on clinical procedures, nursing protocols, patient safety, infection prevention, and hospital policies.

- Assess the clinical competency and skill levels of nursing staff through demonstrations, observations, and assessments.

- Conduct BLS/ACLS awareness and other clinical skill-based training as applicable.

- Ensure nursing staff are updated on changes in clinical practices, guidelines, protocols, and regulatory requirements.

- Coordinate competency assessments and maintain individual training and competency records.

- Conduct mock drills and simulation-based training for emergency and critical situations.

- Collaborate with Nursing HODs and clinical departments to identify performance gaps and develop appropriate training interventions.

- Support quality improvement initiatives, NABH requirements, audits, and patient safety programs.

- Prepare training materials, presentations, assessments, and educational resources.

- Monitor training effectiveness through feedback, assessments,



and post-training evaluation.

- Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, competency assessments, and training records.

- Participate in nursing audits and quality improvement projects.

- Mentor and guide nursing staff in professional development and clinical practice.

- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SOPs, infection-control standards, and ethical practices.

Educational Qualification

- B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.

- Valid registration with the respective State Nursing Council.

- Additional certification in nursing education, BLS/ACLS, or relevant clinical specialties will be an advantage.

Experience

- 3 -5 years of relevant clinical nursing experience.

- Prior experience in nursing education/training is preferred.

- Experience in a multispecialty hospital is desirable.
