About the Company

We are a growing food processing and poultry manufacturing organization seeking a highly experienced and professionally qualified Accounts & Financial Auditor to strengthen our financial governance, internal control framework, and operational audit systems.

The organization operates in the poultry processing industry, involving procurement, production, inventory management, cold chain operations, sales, and financial transactions. The position offers an chance to work closely with senior management and review the financial and operational processes of a manufacturing business.

Position Overview

We are looking for a senior-level Accounts & Financial Auditor with 20+ years of relevant experience and a qualification of CA or CMA to independently oversee the audit of accounts, financial transactions, inventory, production operations, costing, statutory compliance, and internal controls across all departments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying financial discrepancies, evaluating process effectiveness, reviewing internal controls, detecting irregularities, and providing independent audit observations to management.

The role requires strong analytical ability, professional judgment, integrity, and the capability to conduct independent audits in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounts & Financial Audit

- Independently audit the books of accounts, financial transactions, and accounting records across departments.
- Review general ledger, journal entries, purchase, sales, expense, payment, and receipt transactions.
- Verify the accuracy, completeness, and authorization of financial transactions.
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, advances, provisions, and outstanding balances.
- Identify accounting errors, unusual transactions, unsupported expenses, and control weaknesses.
- Verify adherence to approved accounting policies and financial authorization procedures.

1. Stock & Inventory Audit

- Conduct periodic and risk-based physical verification of raw materials, finished goods, packaging materials, consumables, and other inventory.
- Reconcile physical stock with ERP / accounting records and inventory registers.
- Investigate stock shortages, excesses, wastage, damages, and unexplained variances.
- Review inventory movement, goods receipt, dispatch, transfers, and stock adjustment entries.
- Evaluate inventory controls across production units, warehouses, and storage locations.
- Review inventory valuation and the adequacy of supporting documentation.

1. Production & Yield Audit

- Audit production records, raw material consumption, and finished goods output.
- Review production yield, process losses, wastage, and consumption variances.
- Reconcile production data with stock records and accounting information.
- Investigate deviations from approved consumption norms and production standards.
- Review controls over raw material issuance, production recording, and finished goods transfer.
- Coordinate with production and operations teams to establish the reasons for significant variances.

1. Costing & Cost Control

- Review product costing, manufacturing expenses, and production overheads.




- Evaluate raw material consumption and production cost allocation.
- Analyze cost variances and identify areas of avoidable expenditure.
- Review manufacturing cost reports and cost-related accounting entries.
- Assess cost control procedures and recommend improvements to management.
- Support management with reliable financial and operational cost insights.

1. Purchase & Vendor Audit

- Review purchase transactions, purchase orders, goods receipt records, and vendor invoices.
- Verify compliance with approved procurement processes and authorization limits.
- Review vendor balances, advances, payment records, and outstanding liabilities.
- Identify duplicate invoices, unusual purchase transactions, and discrepancies in supporting documents.
- Evaluate vendor selection, purchase controls, and price variance documentation.
- Review the effectiveness of procurement-to-payment controls.

1. Sales & Receivables Audit

- Review sales invoices, sales returns, credit notes, and related accounting entries.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of sales recording and revenue-related documentation.
- Review customer outstanding balances, credit limits, and receivables ageing.
- Reconcile sales records with dispatch documentation and accounting ledgers.
- Review collection processes and long-pending receivables.
- Identify unusual sales adjustments, discrepancies, and weaknesses in revenue controls.

1. Bank Reconciliation & Financial Controls

- Review bank reconciliation statements and investigate unreconciled entries.
- Verify cash and bank transactions, payments, receipts, and supporting documents.
- Evaluate controls over cash management, banking transactions, and financial approvals.
- Review advances, employee claims, and other financial settlements.
- Monitor adherence to financial policies and management-approved procedures.
- Identify control gaps and recommend corrective measures.

1. GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance Review

- Review accounting records and documentation relevant to GST, TDS, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Examine the completeness and accuracy of compliance-related accounting entries.
- Review reconciliations between books of accounts and relevant statutory records.
- Identify potential discrepancies, delayed compliance processes, and control weaknesses.
- Coordinate with the finance and tax teams regarding audit observations.
- Ensure statutory compliance review is conducted in coordination with the responsible professionals and applicable legal requirements.

1. Fraud / Irregularity Detection

- Identify unusual financial transactions, control breaches, and potential irregularities.
- Conduct transaction-level scrutiny where discrepancies or red flags are identified.
- Review segregation of duties and authorization controls.
- Investigate unexplained financial or operational variances based on documented evidence.
- Escalate material observations and suspected irregularities through appropriate management channels.
- Maintain confidentiality, professional independence, and proper audit documentation.

1. Independent Audit of All Departments





- Develop and execute a periodic audit plan covering accounts, procurement, stores, production, sales, logistics, and other relevant departments.
- Conduct department-wise process reviews and risk-based audits.
- Review compliance with established SOPs, internal policies, and financial controls.
- Coordinate with departmental heads to obtain records and explanations.
- Follow up on outstanding audit observations and corrective actions.
- Maintain a structured audit trail with supporting evidence.

1. Management Reporting & Corrective Action

- Prepare comprehensive monthly internal audit reports for senior management.
- Highlight significant discrepancies, control weaknesses, process deviations, and financial implications where quantifiable.
- Provide practical recommendations for strengthening controls and improving operational efficiency.
- Present audit findings to management / Finance Head / CFO as required.
- Track corrective actions, responsible departments, timelines, and closure status.
- Conduct follow-up reviews to assess whether agreed corrective actions have been implemented.

Required Qualification & Experience
- CA or CMA Qualified from a recognized professional institute.
- Minimum 20+ years of relevant post-qualification or equivalent relevant professional experience, as determined by the employer.
- Strong experience in financial audit, internal controls, accounting review, and operational audit.
- Experience in manufacturing, food processing, poultry, Ready to Eat, or other inventory-intensive industries preferred.
- Practical knowledge of inventory reconciliation, production audit, costing, and financial controls.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and applicable statutory requirements.
- Experience preparing management-level audit reports and presenting audit observations.
- Ability to independently plan, execute, and report on audit assignments.

Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be a senior finance and audit professional who can independently evaluate financial and operational processes, identify material discrepancies, communicate audit observations effectively, and work directly with management to strengthen the organization's internal control environment. Candidates with substantial experience in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, internal audit, and inventory-intensive operations are encouraged to apply.

Candidates with only routine bookkeeping, data entry, billing, or basic accounting experience without substantial audit and control exposure will not meet the intended senior-level requirements.
