Job Title: Medical Home Sample Collector / Home Collection Executive
Job Summary:
Responsible for visiting patients at their homes to collect blood, urine, and other diagnostic samples according to established medical and safety procedures. The role also involves accurately identifying patients, labeling specimens, maintaining documentation, and transporting samples safely to the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit patients at their homes for scheduled sample collection.
- Collect blood, urine, stool, and other clinical specimens as required.
- Verify patient identity and test details before collection.
- Follow proper venipuncture, specimen collection, labeling, and handling procedures.
- Maintain hygiene, infection-control, and biomedical-waste disposal standards.
- Properly package and transport samples to the designated laboratory.
- Maintain accurate collection records and documentation.
- Coordinate appointment schedules with patients and the laboratory.
- Explain the collection procedure to patients and address basic queries professionally.
- Report difficult collections, adverse reactions, or specimen-related issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain and handle collection equipment and supplies.
- Follow company SOPs, laboratory guidelines, and applicable healthcare regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- DMLT/BMLT, Medical Laboratory Technician certification, or relevant healthcare qualification, depending on employer requirements.
- Practical knowledge of blood/sample collection.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel to patients' homes.
- Knowledge of infection control and sample-handling procedures.
- Prior phlebotomy or laboratory experience is often preferred.
