Role Description The VMC Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and process specifications. Day-to-day activities include loading and securing workpieces, selecting and changing tools, entering and adjusting machine parameters, and ensuring parts meet dimensional and quality standards using appropriate measuring instruments. The role involves basic troubleshooting of machining issues, performing routine machine maintenance,



and coordinating with supervisors and quality teams to maintain production efficiency and minimize downtime.

The VMC Operator will also maintain accurate production records, follow safety and housekeeping guidelines, and contribute to continuous improvement of machining processes. This is a full time, on-site role based in Coimbatore.

Qualifications

- CNC/VMC operation skills, including machine setup, tool selection, and parameter adjustment for precision machining.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions.

- Hands-on experience with measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.

- Basic knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, materials, and surface finishing requirements.

- Strong focus on quality control, with the ability to identify defects and ensure dimensional accuracy and consistency.

- Adherence to safety practices, machine maintenance routines, and workplace housekeeping standards.

- Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams.

- Ability to work on a full-time basis in an on-site manufacturing environment in Coimbatore.

- Relevant technical qualification or certification in machining, mechanical engineering, or production technology is preferred.

- Prior experience in a precision machining or component manufacturing setup, especially in automotive or industrial sectors, is an advantage.
