Role Description The Video Editor role at Halfreel is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai.
The Video
Editor will be responsible for assembling raw footage, selecting and sequencing shots, and creating polished edits for ad films, digital campaigns, reels, and other visual content. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with directors and producers to interpret creative briefs, adding transitions and effects, integrating audio elements, and performing basic color corrections to ensure a consistent look and feel. The role also involves working closely with motion graphics and design assets, preparing different versions of content for various platforms, organizing project files, and maintaining efficient workflows.
The Video
Editor is expected to meet deadlines, respond to feedback constructively, and contribute ideas that enhance the final output.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Video Editing and Video Production, including handling different formats and platforms.
- Candidates should possess skills in Video Color Grading and visual enhancement to ensure consistent tone and quality across projects.
- Candidates should possess skills in Motion Graphics and Graphics to integrate animated elements and visual designs into edited content.
- Proficiency with industry-standard editing software (such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve) and basic audio editing tools.
- Robust storytelling ability, attention to detail, and an understanding of pacing, rhythm, and visual composition.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with creative teams, follow structured workflows, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Relevant education in film, media, communication, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in video post-production.
- Prior experience in editing ads, digital campaigns, or social media content for agencies or production houses is an advantage.
