About the Role

Were looking for a creative Video Editor to handle end-to-end post-production for a childrens YouTube channel at Golden Jackal Studios. You’ll work closely with our in-house creators, writers, and AI production pipeline to shape a channel that’s bright, playful, safe, and genuinely compelling for young audiences.

What You’ll Do

Editing & Assembly

- Handle full end-to-end edits, from raw footage to polished final exports ready for YouTube.
- Cut and pace content to hold the attention of audiences aged 2–13.
- Sync dialogue, performances, and audio with precision across long-form and short-form content.
- Edit and produce YouTube Shorts optimised for vertical viewing, fast hooks, and high retention, including caption overlays, pacing adjustments, and platform-native formatting.
- Perform colour correction and grading to ensure visual consistency, warmth, and vibrancy across live-action and AI-generated footage.

Collaboration & Creative Process

- Work closely with on-screen creators, writers, and the development team throughout the production process.
- Integrate seamlessly into an AI-assisted video production workflow, applying the same editorial rigour to AI-generated and AI-augmented content as live footage.
- Participate in creative reviews, offer editorial feedback, and actively help shape the channel’s visual language.

Motion Graphics & Visual Design

- Create animated title cards, lower thirds, transitions, and episodic intros and outros.
- Design and animate graphic overlays, including callout bubbles, sticker pops, scoreboards, progress bars, and reaction graphics.




- Maintain a consistent visual style across all videos and Shorts.

Sound Design & Audio

- Source, edit, and layer sound effects to enhance storytelling beats, including swooshes, pops, and boings.
- Select and edit background music that complements the mood and pacing without overpowering dialogue.
- Mix and master audio to broadcast-quality standards, ensuring clean and child-safe output.
- Work comfortably with royalty-free music libraries such as Epidemic Sound and Artlist.

Workflow & Delivery

- Manage project files, proxies, and asset libraries using an organised and easily retrievable structure.
- Export content in multiple formats and resolutions, including YouTube 1080p and 4K, vertical Shorts in 9:16, and thumbnails.
- Iterate quickly based on creative direction and feedback from multiple stakeholders.

Who You Are

Required

- 2 years of video-editing experience, preferably involving children’s content.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
- Proven experience creating and optimising YouTube Shorts, with a strong understanding of vertical pacing, hook structure, and audience-retention techniques.
- A strong sense of comedic timing and visual rhythm.




- Working knowledge of audio editing in Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe Audition.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Hindi, as you’ll work on bilingual content with a bilingual team.
- A collaborative working style and the ability to give and receive feedback constructively.
- A portfolio featuring motion graphics, titles, sound-effect-integrated edits, and YouTube Shorts.

Compliance Knowledge

- Working familiarity with COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) as it applies to YouTube content.
- Awareness of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and its implications for children’s digital content.

Nice to Have

- Familiarity with 2D or 3D animation pipelines. You don’t need to be an animator, but experience working with animation assets, coordinating hand-offs to animators, or compositing animated elements is a strong advantage.
- Experience working with or reviewing AI-generated video content.
- Basic Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop skills for asset creation.
- Basic knowledge of contemporary AI image- and video-generation tools.
- Understanding of YouTube Kids platform guidelines beyond COPPA compliance.
