About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Video Editor to create engaging and visually appealing video content for our English News platforms. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in editing news videos, short-form digital content, and social media videos with a strong understanding of storytelling and current digital video trends.

Key Responsibilities:

- Edit English news videos for digital platforms, YouTube, social media, and other content channels.
- Work closely with the editorial team to understand the story, script, and visual requirements.
- Select and edit relevant footage, interviews, images, graphics, and other visual elements.
- Create engaging short-form and long-form news videos with appropriate pacing and storytelling.
- Add titles, lower thirds, captions, transitions, graphics, music, and other elements as required.
- Ensure videos are accurate, visually appealing, and aligned with editorial standards.
- Handle multiple stories and deliver videos within tight deadlines, especially during breaking news and high-priority news cycles.
- Repurpose existing content into different formats suitable for social media and digital platforms.




- Stay updated with current video formats, audience trends, and digital storytelling practices.

Requirements:

- 2-5 years of experience in video editing, preferably in digital news, media, publishing, or a similar environment.
- Strong experience with Adobe Premiere Pro; knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop is an advantage.
- Good understanding of news video editing and digital storytelling.
- Strong sense of timing, pacing, visual composition, and storytelling.
- Ability to work with footage from multiple sources and create coherent news stories.
- Valuable command of English and an understanding of English news content.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight publishing deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in news-related content.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including during major news events when required. Good to Have
- Experience working with a digital news organisation or newsroom.
- Experience creating videos for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and other social platforms.
- Basic knowledge of motion graphics and animation.
- Experience editing breaking news, interviews, explainers, or trending news content.
- Understanding of platform-specific video formats and audience engagement.
