Role
Position: Video Editor
Location: Delhi NCR preferred
Type: Full-time
Experience: 2–5 years preferred The Video Editor will be responsible for editing and packaging video content across YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and other digital platforms.
This is not a role focused only on cutting footage. We are looking for someone who understands pacing, storytelling, audience retention and visual communication.
The editor should be able to take a 60–90 minute conversation and identify the strongest moments, create a polished long-form episode, extract short-form clips and build visual layers that make complex subjects easier to understand.
Key ResponsibilitiesLong-form Video Editing
Edit podcasts, interviews, panel discussions and strategic conversations for YouTube.
Work with multi-camera footage and synchronise video and audio accurately.
Improve pacing by removing repetition, pauses and unnecessary sections without compromising the substance of the conversation.
Add appropriate B-roll, photographs, maps, charts, headlines, archival footage and supporting visuals.
Create strong openings and hooks that improve viewer retention.
Maintain visual consistency across Defence Reimagined content.
Short-form Content
Identify high-impact moments from long-form conversations.
Edit Shorts, Reels and social-first videos.
Create strong opening hooks within the first few seconds.
Use captions, punch-ins, graphics, sound design and visual movement without making serious content feel sensational.
Understand what makes viewers stop scrolling and continue watching.
Explainer Videos
Edit scripted defence and strategic affairs explainers.
Translate scripts into a visual story using:
Maps
Infographics
Timelines
Military footage
Platform and equipment imagery
News headlines
On-screen text
Charts and statistics
Motion graphics
Work closely with the content team to ensure visuals reinforce the argument rather than simply decorate the video.
Podcasts and Multi-Camera Production
Synchronise footage from multiple cameras.
Select camera angles intelligently based on the conversation.
Clean and balance audio.
Apply colour correction and basic grading.
Create professional introductions, transitions and outros.
Prepare final videos for YouTube and social distribution.
Visual Research
Find relevant and credible supporting visuals for defence, military and geopolitical subjects.

What We Are Looking For
Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
Working knowledge of After Effects or similar motion graphics software.
Strong understanding of YouTube editing and audience retention.
Experience editing podcasts, interviews or long-form conversations.
Ability to create short-form content from longer videos.
Good sense of typography, composition and visual hierarchy.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet publishing deadlines.
Comfort working with serious subjects including defence, geopolitics, technology and public policy.
Curiosity about military affairs and national security is highly desirable.
