The role needs to drive the Health, Safety and Environment initiatives across all project sites and offices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering a safety-first culture and implementing proactive strategies to minimize risks related to health, safety, fire and environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Policy Implementation & Training
- Lead the implementation of HSE, ESG and Drug & Alcohol policies across all operations.
- Organize, conduct and ensure induction training and awareness sessions for employees and contractors on topics like fire safety, evacuation, hazard recognition and emergency procedures.
- Promote safety culture through workshops, campaigns and knowledge-sharing sessions.
2. SOPs & Emergency Preparedness
- Ensure availability and regular updates of all HSE SOPs, SMPs and work instructions across sites.
- Develop, update and monitor Site-specific HSE Plans and Emergency Response Plans.
- Ensure all site teams are trained and aligned with operational protocols.
3. Audits & Inspections
- Conduct weekly site inspections and oversee the daily safety observation reports from HSE teams.
- Conduct quarterly HSE audits are carried out at all locations with strict follow-up on compliance actions.
4. Incident Reporting & CAPA
- Ensure/ Prepare of analysis report of incidents and near-misses.
- Lead root cause analysis and drive effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
5. Risk Management
- Implement and maintain comprehensive HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment) documentation.
- Develop and monitor risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead efforts to reduce accidents and improve workplace safety.
6. Fire Safety Management
- Ensure implementation of Health safety & Environment policies, systems and regular fire risk assessments.
- Monitor compliance with local fire safety regulations.
- Plan and oversee fire drills, emergency response training and equipment readiness.
7. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all statutory licenses, permits and approvals are in place.
- Stay updated with relevant fire safety, environmental and occupational health regulations.
- Represent the organization during regulatory inspections and audits.
8. Systems & Processes
- Monitor the implementation of HSE logbooks, checklists and ensure sign-offs by relevant stakeholders.
- Report deviations with analysis and actionable recommendations.
9. Budget & Resource Management
- Prepare and manage budgets for HSE and fire safety initiatives.
- Ensure cost-effective allocation of resources for equipment, infrastructure and certifications.
- Recommend improvements for enhancing safety outcomes cost-effectively.
10. Team Management
- Adherence to performance management and appraisal process and timelines for teams reporting into the role.
- Adherence to defined training calendar.
- Control and Reduce Attrition in the team.
- Undertake / review process improvement and digitization initiatives.
Qualification
- Degree in Engineering along with DIS / PDIS / ADIS from State Council.
- Certifications in ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and other EHS standards are a plus.
- Minimum 1015 years of relevant experience in HSE roles, with leadership exposure across multi-site operations.
- Knowledge of national safety regulations and statutory compliance.
- Good communication skills.
