Vortexen Dynamics Industrial Solutions is urgently hiring an Estimation Engineer for our Kochi office to support our UAE and Saudi Arabia projects.
We are looking for a technically strong candidate experienced in quantity takeoff, BOQ preparation, drawing review, material calculations, costing and quotation preparation.
Our major specialization includes Passive Fire Protection / Firestopping and industrial projects.
Previous firestopping experience is preferred but NOT mandatory. Training will be provided to suitable candidates with solid estimation and quantity-takeoff skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural, MEP and project drawings.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from PDF and AutoCAD drawings.
- Prepare BOQs and detailed quantity schedules.
- Review tender documents, specifications and client requirements.
- Calculate material quantities and consumption.
- Prepare labour and manpower estimates.
- Obtain material prices and coordinate with Procurement/Suppliers.
- Prepare rate analysis and detailed project cost sheets.
- Compare alternative materials and suppliers for cost optimization.
- Prepare commercial quotations and tender submissions.
- Identify missing information, assumptions, exclusions and commercial risks.
- Maintain estimation, quotation and tender trackers.
- Coordinate with Vortexen UAE/Saudi Sales, Projects,
Procurement and Operations teams.
- Support value engineering and cost-saving proposals.
- Learn and apply Passive Fire Protection / Firestopping estimation requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in Estimation, Quantity Takeoff, QS, MEP, Fire Protection or related construction/industrial work preferred.
- Robust ability to understand engineering drawings.
- Positive knowledge of BOQ preparation and quantity takeoff.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- AutoCAD knowledge.
- Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift or other takeoff software is an advantage.
- UAE / Saudi / GCC project experience is an advantage.
- Fire Protection / Firefighting / Passive Fire Protection experience is a strong advantage.
- Good analytical and numerical skills.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently and meet tender deadlines.
Firestopping Experience Firestopping/PFP experience is NOT compulsory.

- AI-assisted quantity takeoff and estimation tools
- ERP / CRM / digital quotation systems
