Data Quest Ltd., a Massachusetts-based, licensed, insured and bonded corporate private investigations agency with 45 years in business, is seeking reliable and observant individuals to perform Field Investigation/Secret Shopper/Mystery Shopper assignments in the greater Boston area and throughout Massachusetts.

This flexible, per-assignment position is particularly well suited for criminal justice students, recent graduates, and individuals interested in investigations, loss prevention, security, or related fields who would like to gain practical experience in observation, documentation, and investigative reporting.

What You’ll Do

Secret Shoppers visit assigned client locations while posing as ordinary customers. Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include:

- Observing employee conduct, customer service, and adherence to company procedures
- Evaluating cash-handling and loss-prevention practices
- Conducting retail, restaurant, hotel, parking, or other service-related audits
- Making required purchases or transactions
- Accurately documenting observations and interactions
- Completing a detailed written report following each assignment

What We’re Looking For

Successful Candidates Should Have

- Strong observation skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written communication skills
- The ability to remain discreet and objective
- Reliability and the ability to follow detailed assignment instructions
- Good judgment and professionalism
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to assigned locations
- Access to a smartphone and computer

per-assignment position rather than a traditional set schedule. Assignments are offered based on client needs and geographic availability, allowing you to accept opportunities that work with your schedule.

Compensation varies by assignment and is provided in advance. Required authorized expenses associated with completing an assignment are reimbursed in accordance with assignment instructions.
