About the Role

Drogo Drones is looking for a Type Certification Engineer with experience or strong knowledge of UAV/drone certification, regulatory compliance, technical documentation, and testing processes.

The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the DGCA Type Certification process for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), including preparation of technical documentation, compliance evidence, test coordination, and interaction with internal engineering teams and certification stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage and support UAS Type Certification activities in accordance with applicable DGCA requirements and certification standards.

•Prepare, review, organize, and maintain certification-related technical documentation.

•Develop and maintain compliance checklists, compliance matrices, test reports, design documents, manuals, and supporting evidence.

•Coordinate with design, avionics, embedded systems, mechanical, propulsion, flight-test, quality, and manufacturing teams to obtain certification evidence.

•Support preparation and execution of ground tests and flight tests required for certification.

•Document test procedures, observations, results, deviations, and corrective actions.

•Maintain configuration control and traceability between UAV design requirements, test evidence, and certification documentation.

•Identify certification gaps and coordinate closure of observations/non-conformities.

•Support documentation related to UAV subsystems including flight controller, propulsion system, communication system, navigation system, batteries, payloads, and safety systems.

•Coordinate with testing agencies, certification bodies, and regulatory stakeholders as required.

•Monitor changes in applicable DGCA UAS regulations,



certification requirements, and industry standards.

•Support design changes, product upgrades, and certification impact assessments.

•Maintain complete certification records for audits and future product variants.

Qualification

Essential:

•B.E./B.Tech in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, Avionics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.

•1–3 years of relevant experience in UAVs, aerospace certification, testing, regulatory compliance, quality, or product engineering.

•Good understanding of UAV architecture and major subsystems.

•Robust technical documentation and report-writing skills.

•Ability to interpret regulatory and engineering requirements.

Preferred:

•Previous exposure to DGCA Drone/UAS Type Certification.

•Experience working with UAV manufacturers or aerospace organizations.

•Knowledge of flight testing, reliability testing, environmental testing, and safety assessment.

•Familiarity with engineering change management and configuration control.

•Understanding of quality systems and aerospace/UAV standards will be an advantage.
