We are currently looking for talented and motivated Transport Modeller with supplementary skills in Planning & Appraisal to work closely with our teams in the UK.

Our Transport Planning department is a recognised industry leader, and operates across several markets including Highways, Public Transport, Net Zero/Clean Air and Active travel. Our current portfolio of projects includes local authority road and public transport network improvements, clean air projects, active travel, public realm improvement projects and trunk road and motorway schemes across the UK. Some of our recent projects include A46 Coventry Junctions (Walsgrave) major scheme assessment, Worcestershire Local Plan modelling, Kings Road and Wakefield Road Public Transport Corridor improvement, Ayrshire Growth Deal and Liverpool Clean Air – just a few to name.

We work for a range of clients including national government agencies, local authorities, private developers and contractors. We use the latest appraisal and modelling software and techniques to undertake transport modelling and economic appraisal that feeds into wider Value for Money (VfM) assessment framework and Business Case development.

What does the role involve?

As part of the team in Transport Planning, you will be working closely with our Transport Modelling and Transport Planning teams based in the UK. You’ll gain exposure to varied project work which helps our clients shape their plans and to secure funding for investment. The successful candidate will help deliver a range of transport planning, modelling and economic appraisal projects through the application of proven techniques and procedures while contributing to our business growth in Northern Europe and our Global Excellence Centre.





To be successful in this role you’ll be required to demonstrate the following:

- You are graduated with a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Maths, Economics, Econometrics, Transport Planning/Studies, Civil Engineering, or a related subject;
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills and are passionate to find a quick, innovative and practical solution;
- Advanced, demonstrable experience using the traffic modelling software package VISSIM (essential), including the development, calibration, and application of complex microsimulation models;

- Robust working experience with the traffic modelling software package VISUM (essential), with the ability to apply it effectively across a range of strategic modelling tasks;
- Experience in the traffic modelling software packages PARAMICS, SATURN, CUBE, EMME would be desirable;
- Understanding of the micro/macroeconomics, economic principles including transport economic appraisal and business case development;
- Experience/competence in economic appraisal packages like TUBA, QUADRO, COBA-LT, WITA (Wider Economics) which are widely used in the UK would be added value;
- Advance level in MS Excel, access, PowerBI and word;
- Programming skills in Python, R, C#, C and GIS tools would be an advantage;
- Excellent communication skills.
