Qualification: Diploma / B.E ./ B.Tech. – Mechanical / Tool & Die / Production
Role
Lead the Tooling function for Taper Roller Manufacturing, driving tool development, tool life improvement, vendor development, cost reduction and technology-driven improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve tools, dies, fixtures, guides and gauges for Heading, Wire Drawing, Grinding and other processes.
- Lead new tool development from design to trials, validation and production implementation.
- Improve tool life, productivity and tooling quality through RCA, Kaizen and process improvement.
- Drive tooling cost reduction, consumption reduction and alternate material/design development.
- Develop and qualify new tooling vendors, including local/alternate sources; negotiate technical and cost improvements with Purchase.
- Manage Tool Room activities, manpower, priorities, tool inventory and timely tool availability.
- Provide quick technical support for tooling-related production and quality problems.
- Use MS Excel, ERP / MIS and CAD software for tooling data, drawings, tool-life analysis and reporting.
- Leverage AI tools and digital technologies for problem solving, data analysis, documentation and tooling improvement.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering and Purchase teams.
