We are looking for an experienced Tool Maker to join our Tool Room team. The role involves making, fitting, repairing, and maintaining tools, jigs, fixtures, and moulds used in production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make and fit precision tools, jigs, fixtures, dies, and moulds as per drawings.
- Support current plastic injection mould manufacturing and assembly. (new)
- Do fitting work like filing, lapping, and polishing to get accurate size and finish.
- Set up tools for trial runs and check if they match the drawing specifications.
- Coordinate with design and machining teams for smooth mould development. (new)
- Repair and maintain old tools to avoid production downtime.
- Find out the root cause of tooling problems and fix them (troubleshooting).
- Match and fit mould parts (core and cavity) correctly, and fix issues like flash or misalignment.
- Make sure mould parts like slides, lifters, and ejector pins move smoothly.
- Support mould corrections and ensure production readiness. (new)
- Read and understand 2D and 3D drawings and convert them into actual work.
- Use measuring tools like micrometers, vernier calipers, and height gauges to check quality.
- Keep proper records of work done and report any issues to the manager.
