Welcare Hospital, Vadodara, is looking for a skilled and dedicated OT Scrub Nurse to join our Operation Theatre team. The candidate will be responsible for assisting surgeons and the OT team during surgical procedures while maintaining proper aseptic techniques and OT protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the Operation Theatre before surgical procedures.
- Arrange and check surgical instruments, equipment, and required supplies.
- Assist surgeons and other OT staff as a scrub nurse during surgeries.
- Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques throughout procedures.
- Perform surgical instrument, sponge, and needle counts before, during, and after surgery.
- Pass surgical instruments and supplies to the surgeon as required.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of surgical instruments.
- Assist with preparation of surgical trays and instrument sets.
- Monitor and maintain OT cleanliness, sterilization, and infection-control practices.
- Coordinate with the circulating nurse, surgeons, anesthesia team, and other OT staff.
- Ensure proper documentation and completion of OT records.
- Follow hospital policies, infection-control guidelines, and patient-safety protocols.
- Assist with post-operative OT preparation and ensure instruments are sent for appropriate cleaning and sterilization.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualification: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing.
- Valid nursing registration.
- Experience: 0–1 years of experience as an OT/Scrub Nurse preferred.
- Good knowledge of surgical instruments and OT procedures.
- Knowledge of sterilization and infection-control practices.
- Positive communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced OT environment.
