About the Role The school is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and experienced Theatre Teacher to lead and develop students’ skills in drama, theatre, stage performance, and performing arts. The candidate will be responsible for creating an engaging theatre learning environment that encourages creativity, confidence, communication, collaboration, discipline, and self-expression.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging theatre and drama lessons for students across appropriate age groups.

- Teach fundamentals of acting, voice modulation, dialogue delivery, body language, improvisation, stage presence, and expression.

- Develop students’ confidence, creativity, communication, and public-speaking abilities through theatre-based activities.

- Conduct practical theatre exercises, role plays, improvisation sessions, storytelling, and stage activities.

- Prepare students for school plays, annual functions, theatre productions, competitions, assemblies, and cultural events.

- Direct and coordinate theatrical productions, including selection of scripts, casting, rehearsals, blocking, and performance preparation.

- Guide students in character development, script interpretation, and stage performance.

- Introduce students to different forms and styles of theatre, including Indian and international theatre traditions, as appropriate.

- Encourage teamwork and ensure that students participate respectfully and responsibly in group performances.

- Coordinate with teachers and school departments for productions and interdisciplinary cultural activities.

- Maintain appropriate records of lesson plans, student participation, assessments, and performance progress.





- Assess students on their practical performance, creativity, participation, and understanding of theatre concepts.

- Ensure safe and appropriate use of theatre props, costumes, stage equipment, and other resources.

- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.

- Stay updated with contemporary theatre practices, performing arts techniques, and age-appropriate teaching methodologies.

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Theatre, Drama, Performing Arts, Fine Arts, or a related discipline.

- Relevant certification/diploma in Theatre, Drama, Acting, or Performing Arts will be an added advantage.

- B.Ed. or teaching qualification will be preferred, where applicable.

Experience

- Prior experience as a Theatre Teacher, Drama Teacher, Theatre Artist, Acting Coach, or Performing Arts Educator.

- Experience working with school students will be preferred.

- Candidates with experience in directing school plays, stage productions, musicals, or cultural programmes will be preferred.

Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
