Key Responsibilities

- Take ownership of the day-to-day performance of thin wire machines and associated production activities.

- Translate the production plan into practical machine schedules based on available capacity, material and manpower.

- Ensure correct machine preparation, wire installation, alignment, tensioning and operating settings before production.

- Monitor cutting/processing conditions and make appropriate operating adjustments to maintain reliable performance.

- Track wire breakage, machine stoppages, abnormal vibration, dimensional variation and other operating deviations.

- Control wire, slurry/processing consumables and other machine-related inputs to minimize avoidable consumption and loss.

- Ensure material is processed according to the required thickness, dimensions, finish and production specifications.

- Review machine-wise output and identify reasons for shortfall, idle time or inconsistent performance.

- Work with Maintenance to plan servicing and resolve mechanical, electrical or control-related machine issues.

- Ensure critical spares, tools and operating consumables are available to prevent unnecessary production interruptions.

- Establish effective shift handover practices, including machine condition, pending issues, output and material status.

- Guide machine operators on correct operating practices, machine care, basic troubleshooting and safe working methods.

- Evaluate operator performance and identify training requirements to improve machine handling and process consistency.





- Coordinate with Quality on process deviations, product complaints, dimensional issues and corrective actions.

- Maintain machine-wise production, downtime, wire-consumption and breakdown records and submit periodic reports.

- Investigate recurring wire breakage, uneven cutting, poor productivity and other process issues through structured root-cause analysis.

- Implement improvements in machine settings, work methods, changeover practices and consumable utilization wherever appropriate.

- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, 5S and housekeeping standards around the machine area.

- Participate in trials and commissioning of new machines, tools, wires or process methods and document results.

- Support management in improving production capacity, operating cost, equipment reliability and overall process discipline.

Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical, Production, Electrical or a relevant technical discipline.

- 5+ years of experience in machine-intensive manufacturing or stone-processing operations, with supervisory experience preferred.

- Practical exposure to wire-based cutting/processing machinery or similar precision production equipment will be preferred.

- Experience in machine scheduling, operator supervision, breakdown coordination and production reporting.

- Ability to understand machine parameters, production data and basic maintenance requirements.
