Job Summary

You will be a key contributor to the IT support function, ensuring reliable operation of critical software applications and delivering timely technical resolution to customers and internal teams. This role has direct impact on system availability and user satisfaction and requires close collaboration with development, QA, product, and infrastructure teams. You will own investigations, drive root-cause analysis, and help improve operational processes and knowledge assets.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day application support and resolve incidents within defined SLAs.

- Triage, reproduce, and diagnose issues across application stacks and escalate when required.

- Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate with development to implement fixes and preventive measures.

- Manage incidents through the ticketing system and maintain clear, timely communication with stakeholders and end users.

- Execute application deployments, configuration changes, and rollback procedures in coordination with release teams.

- Monitor application health and respond to alerts from APM/logging systems.

- Create and maintain runbooks, knowledgebase articles, and technical documentation.

- Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripts or tooling to improve response time and reliability.

- Participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews to drive continuous improvement.

- Assist with performance troubleshooting, capacity planning inputs, and security-related remediation activities.

Technology Stack

- Core platforms: Windows and Linux server environments.

- Databases: SQL Server, MySQL/MariaDB, and basic familiarity with Oracle.

- Application web: Java/.NET-based applications, web servers (IIS, Apache, NGINX).

- APIs and integrations: REST APIs, JSON, SOAP.

- Scripting automation: Python, Bash, PowerShell.

Docker (basic operational knowledge).

- Cloud virtualization: AWS or Azure fundamentals; VMware/KVM.

- Monitoring logging: Splunk, ELK stack, Prometheus, Nagios/Zabbix, or similar tools.

- CI/CD ticketing: Jenkins, Git, Jira, ServiceNow.

- Security access: authentication/SSO concepts, TLS, basic network troubleshooting.

Required Skills Competencies

- Robust hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across application stacks.

- Proficient in SQL for diagnosing data issues and writing diagnostic queries.

- Experience with scripting/automation (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).

- Familiarity with cloud services and basic operational tasks in AWS or Azure.

- Experience using monitoring/logging tools to investigate incidents and extract actionable insights.

- Solid understanding of networks (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancers) as they relate to application behavior.

- Effective written and verbal communication for customer-facing interactions and internal collaboration.

- Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to work under pressure.

- Knowledge of ITSM processes, incident/change management, and SLA-driven support.

Qualifications

- Minimum qualification: Master of Computer Applications (MCA).

- Experience: 2 to 5 years in technical support, application support, or related IT operations roles.

- Relevant certifications (optional): ITIL, AWS/Azure associate certs, or scripting/DB certifications are advantageous.
