: Sales Engineer

Key ResponsibilitiesSales and Business Development

- Respond promptly to inbound customer enquiries.
- Understand customers’ technical requirements and recommend suitable products or spare parts.
- Prepare quotations and follow up with customers to close sales.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to generate repeat business.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure a smooth sales cycle.
- Regularly update the CRM system and internal sales reports.

Purchasing and Procurement
- Source engine spare parts from the company’s existing inventory and third-party vendors based on customer enquiries.
- Maintain historical pricing records and update pricing tables.
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders.
- Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms with vendors.
- Track orders from enquiry and purchase through delivery, invoicing, and payment collection.
- Maintain vendor databases and performance records.




- Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and applicable import/export documentation requirements.

Inventory, Logistics, and Coordination
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for stock availability, dispatches, and delivery updates.
- Monitor order status and ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, invoices, and goods receipt records.
- Coordinate with finance, procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams to resolve order-related issues.

Required Skills
- Basic understanding of mechanical components and engine spare parts; marine machinery knowledge is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP or CRM systems; knowledge of Zoho is preferred.
- Understanding of inventory control, procurement processes, and related documentation.
- Strong negotiation, communication, coordination, and customer-handling skills.
- Ability to manage multiple enquiries and orders simultaneously.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude.
- Good written and spoken English.
