We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager / Scrum Master to join the American Express team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Agile/Scrum and SAFe methodologies, along with a solid technical background in software development, testing, DevOps, or SRE. The candidate should be comfortable working closely with engineering teams and business stakeholders, driving technical projects from planning through delivery, and ensuring successful execution in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage technology projects from planning through successful delivery.
- Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
- Work within a SAFe Agile environment and coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Development, QA, DevOps, SRE, Product, and other technology teams.
- Track project scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, issues, and deliverables.
- Identify and proactively manage project risks, blockers, and dependencies.
- Drive continuous improvement in team processes, delivery quality, and Agile practices.
- Provide regular project status updates and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.
- Support technical discussions and understand the impact of architecture, development, testing, deployment, and production support activities.




- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, CI/CD practices, and delivery processes.
- Use project and engineering metrics to track progress and improve delivery predictability.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong experience as a Technical Project Manager, Scrum Master, or Technical Delivery Manager.
- Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum and SAFe environments.
- Strong technical background in one or more areas such as:

- Software Development

- Quality Engineering / Testing

- DevOps

- Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
- Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and modern engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of software build, deployment, release, and production support processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong experience managing cross-functional teams and technical dependencies.
- Ability to understand technical challenges and effectively communicate with engineering teams as well as business stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with large-scale enterprise technology programs.
- Experience in the financial services / banking / payments domain.
- American Express experience will be highly preferred.
- SAFe certification such as SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), SAFe Agilist (SA), or equivalent is an advantage.
- Scrum Master / Agile certification such as CSM or PSM is a plus.
