Bloomberg Tax is Looking for:**** Bloomberg Tax Fixed Assets - Technical Manager Hands-on delivery and people management, about 70 percent technical and 30 percent management. Develop and manage a high-performing full stack engineering team for Bloomberg Tax Fixed Assets, a business-critical platform that calculates depreciation, tax, and valuation through a performance-critical C++ calculation engine, C# / .NET services, SQL Server, and customer-facing React web applications. The product is moving from legacy monoliths and stored procedures toward a cloud-native, event-driven platform on AWS.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage, coach, and mentor direct reports to maximize team health, delivery, effectiveness, and career growth, and foster an inclusive team environment.
- Partner with product and other teams on roadmaps that maximize impact from available resources, including coordination with Arlington Fixed Assets teams.
- Architect, design, and deliver high-quality code independently, following INDG best practices and making well-reasoned design decisions and tradeoffs in your own work and in team reviews.
- Develop scalable, highly available,



high-performance components across C# / .NET, React, TypeScript, Node.js, SQL Server, and Amazon RDS, including interfaces to the C++ calculation path. Diagnose and fix production issues.
- Contribute hands-on to incremental AWS work across APIs, events, and services, including Lambda, Step Functions, EKS, and Amazon RDS, while supporting existing SQL Server and stored-procedure integrations.
- Uphold standards for observability, stability, scalability, security, performance, and cost effectiveness. Estimate and deliver large projects and architectural implementations within established hosting, software, and consulting budgets.

Qualifications

- Related bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience, with a sustained record of building commercial applications using modern software engineering practices, plus experience managing the software development life cycle.
- Team leadership experience with strong interpersonal skills, plus a record of delivering enterprise platforms and/or consumer web applications in distributed Agile, Lean, and DevSecOps teams.
- Hands-on proficiency with C# / .NET and modern JavaScript or TypeScript (React). Working knowledge of SQL / T-SQL and Amazon RDS, including using RDS or integrating applications with it.




- Hands-on working knowledge of C++ on a mixed native and managed codebase, and comfort working alongside Node.js in the same codebase.
- Hands-on proficiency with AWS, serverless and event-driven architecture, service-oriented architecture, microservices, microfrontends, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Lambda, Step Functions, and EKS.
- Knowledge of data systems including SQL / relational databases, Amazon RDS, NoSQL, and messaging queues, with working experience in DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
- Strong software engineering practices across coding standards, architecture and design patterns, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
