We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Technical Advisor / Co-Tech to join our automobile service workshop. The candidate will be responsible for technical diagnosis, vehicle inspection, repair coordination, job quality, and ensuring timely delivery of vehicles while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed inspection and technical diagnosis of vehicles.
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults accurately.
- Prepare accurate job estimates based on vehicle condition and required repairs.
- Explain technical issues and repair requirements to Service Advisors and customers.
- Coordinate with technicians for proper repair and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical guidance to technicians for complex jobs.
- Ensure repairs are carried out as per manufacturer/company standards.
- Conduct road tests and final vehicle inspections before delivery.
- Verify that all complaints mentioned in the job card are properly resolved.
- Support the workshop team in reducing repeat repairs and technical complaints.
- Ensure proper use of diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
- Maintain proper documentation of technical findings and repairs.
- Coordinate with the Parts Department for required parts and technical support.
- Escalate major or complicated technical issues to the Workshop Manager/Technical Team.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and workshop processes.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of automobile mechanical and electrical systems.
- Good understanding of vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of OBD/diagnostic scanners and basic automotive electronics.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex technical problems.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technicians and workshop staff.
- Knowledge of service procedures and repair standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet workshop timelines.
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma / B.Tech in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Relevant automobile workshop experience will be an added advantage.
Experience 2–5 years of experience in an automobile dealership/workshop, preferably as a Technical Advisor, Diagnostic Technician, Senior Technician, or Co-Tech.
Salary
₹20,000 – ₹35,000 per month, depending on experience, technical skills, and interview performance.
