Core Responsibilities

The System Engineer is responsible for:

- Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise backup solutions.

- Handle L2 escalations from the L1 support team.

- Perform backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations.

- Troubleshoot backup failures and performance issues.

- Ensure daily backup job success and validation.

- Perform data restoration requests (files, databases, VMs).

- Monitor backup storage utilization and capacity planning.

- Implement and maintain backup policies, schedules, and retention.

- Support DR drills and business continuity planning.

- Patch and upgrade backup infrastructure.

- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.

- Create and maintain documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.

- Coordinate with L3 team for complex issues.

Eligibility

- Any technical graduate

- Valuable communication skills





- Flexibility to work in shifts

Required Skill Set

- Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup Replication

Experience with

- Virtualization platforms: VMware, Hyper-V

- Storage systems: SAN and NAS

Knowledge of

- Tape libraries, disk-based backup

- Windows OS

- RPO/RTO and DR concepts

- Basic PowerShell scripting is a plus

Beneficial Skill Set

- MSP Experience

- Experience with multiple backup tools
