Job Purpose To plan and co-ordinate the day to day shift activities of the unit to achieve the target generation within the budgeted cost adhering to quality, safety and environmental norms. To monitor equipment healthiness and coordinate to achieve its availability with the maintenance departments. To Supervise of Field & recording & booking abnormalities through Ekayan. Engage in WCM activities, Audit activities & EOHS activities of the department. ?
– Operation & Monitoring
Turbine and Auxiliary Systems Responsibilities
- Ensure hydrant and spray systems are healthy (ST, UT, GT, MOT, deluge valves should be in normal condition)
- Line up CW water system (including condenser inlet/outlet, ACW, PHE inlet/outlet, ARV)
- Confirm condenser bottom spring is in released condition and pathway is cleared for proper venting
- Line up DMCW system including expansion tank, PHE, recirculation, and suction/discharge
- Ensure DMCCW cooling water to MOT lube oil cooler, BFP lube oil cooler, working oil cooler, motors, BFP seal cooler, CEP bearing cooler, generator cooler, SWAS cooler, control oil system, and NaOH dosing system
- Line up both CEPs including hot well, CEP suction/discharge, canister vent, strainer, main ejector, gland steam condenser, drain cooler, LP heaters, deaerator, and regenerative system water side
- Line up both BFPs including feed storage tank, BFP suction/discharge, recirculation line, HP heaters, and feed water path up to FRS
- Line up LP heaters including drains, vents, local gauges, transmitters, drip lines, regenerative water, and extraction valves
- Line up HP heaters including drains, vents, local gauges, transmitters, drip lines, regenerative water, and extraction valves
- Line up PRDS (MS to PRDS, CRH to PRDS, HT to LT PRDS), and PRDS spray system from CEP
- Ensure common LT & HT PRDS lines are set as per operational requirements
- Perform vacuum pulling: start main and auxiliary ejector systems and align water and steam sides
- Seal vacuum breaker and drain lines using CD-60 control valve
- Line up gland sealing and maintain temperature as per HPT shaft criteria
- Line up LP and HP dosing systems; maintain chemical levels and inform lab team when refilling is required
- During shutdown: open MAL drains and all isolation valves; during running: close them properly
- Line up turbine lube oil system, including jack oil and lube oil lines for all five turbo generator bearings
- Line up control oil system and LP/HP bypass OSU system
- Monitor turbine heat rate (THR), Present & Book (P&B;), Month-To-Date (MTD), Year-To-Date (YTD), and specific steam consumption
- Inspect and monitor the healthiness of all turbine equipment every 2 hours
- Line up AWU (Auxiliary Water Unit) and perform general inspection
- Line up and monitor exhaust fans in the turbine generator roof
- During turbine rolling, vibration abnormalities should be closely observed at the local area to ensure protected and stable operation
Logs and Documentation
- Maintain updated records of:
- Tool Box Talk (TBT)
- Logbook entries
- Checklist verifications
Logbook duly signature to be done with desk operator regularly
- Monitor and log the health of Turbine and auxiliaries every 2 hours
? Maintenance
- Routine checks and preventive maintenance of:
- Pressure parts of turbine areas
- BFP,CEP,lube oil system,control oil system
- Identifying and troubleshooting turbine issues such as steam leakages and vibration
? Safety & Compliance Ensuring adherence to Turbine operation
