About the Role

General Aeronautics is looking for a UAV Supply Chain & Production Coordinator who can manage and coordinate supply chain, stores, inventory, material planning, and production activities for UAV/drone manufacturing.

The candidate will work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Production, Stores, Quality, Testing, and Vendors to ensure that the required components and materials are available on time and production activities run smoothly.

The role requires both technical knowledge of UAV systems/components and strong operational coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supply Chain & Procurement Coordination

- Coordinate with Procurement and vendors for timely availability of UAV components and production materials.
- Track Purchase Orders, delivery schedules, pending materials, and vendor commitments.
- Follow up with vendors regarding delays, shortages, replacements, and quality-related issues.
- Coordinate with Engineering to understand technical specifications and material requirements.
- Identify potential material shortages that may impact production and escalate them proactively.
- Track critical and long-lead components.

2. UAV Stores & Inventory Management

- Manage day-to-day stores activities for UAV components, assemblies, spares, consumables, and finished products.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and material traceability.
- Manage material inward, inspection, storage, issue, return, and transfer processes.
- Ensure proper labelling, identification, and storage of components.
- Maintain batch and serial number tracking wherever applicable.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of sensitive electronic and battery-related components.

3. Production Coordination

- Coordinate with Production and Engineering teams based on the production plan.
- Ensure all required materials and components are available before production starts.
- Coordinate material movement from Stores to Production and between assembly/testing stages.
- Track production requirements against the Bill of Materials (BOM).




- Monitor material consumption and identify shortages or abnormal consumption.
- Coordinate with Engineering regarding BOM changes, revised specifications, and alternate components.
- Support production teams in resolving material-related issues.

4. Technical Coordination The candidate should have a practical understanding of UAV systems and their major components.

Responsibilities include

- Understanding basic UAV/drone architecture.
- Identifying and understanding major UAV components such as:
- Motors
- ESCs
- Propellers
- Flight Controllers
- GPS/GNSS modules
- Batteries and BMS
- Power Distribution Boards
- Telemetry/Communication systems
- Sensors
- Wiring harnesses and connectors
- Mechanical structures and assemblies
- Understanding component specifications and part numbers.
- Reading and interpreting BOMs, assembly drawings, component specifications, and technical documentation.
- Coordinating with Engineering for technical changes and component substitutions.
- Supporting identification of approved alternate components based on technical requirements.

5. Quality & Material Control

- Coordinate with Quality for incoming material inspection.
- Ensure rejected or non-conforming materials are properly identified and segregated.
- Track replacement of rejected components and supplier corrective actions.
- Maintain records related to material quality and inspection.
- Ensure only approved materials are issued for production.
- Maintain traceability of critical UAV components and assemblies.

6. MIS & Reporting Prepare and maintain regular reports covering:

- Inventory status
- Material availability
- Component shortages
- Purchase Order status
- Vendor delivery status
- Production material requirements
- Material consumption
- Rejected/non-conforming materials
- Critical component availability
- Stock reconciliation
- Production-related material issues

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Material availability for planned production
- Reduction in production delays due to material shortages
- Inventory accuracy
- Timely procurement and material availability
- Stores documentation accuracy
- Component traceability
- Vendor delivery adherence
- Reduction in excess/obsolete inventory

- Accuracy of BOM and material requirement tracking

Educational Qualification

Preferred qualifications:

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in:
- Aerospace Engineering
- Aeronautical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electronics & Communication Engineering
- Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- Mechatronics
- Industrial/Production Engineering

Candidates with relevant technical qualifications and hands-on UAV/drone industry experience may also be considered.

Experience

2–3 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:

- UAV/Drone Manufacturing

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be a technically oriented operations professional with 2–3 years of experience who understands the complete flow of UAV components from procurement → stores → material issue → assembly → testing → production. The candidate should be capable of communicating effectively with both technical and operational teams and should be comfortable working with Engineering, Production, Procurement, Quality, Stores, and external vendors.
