Position: Senior Engineer / Assistant Manager – Logistics & Store – Procurement

Location: Hoshiarpur, Punjab

Objective: To manage inbound logistics operations for direct-buying materials by ensuring timely material availability at the plant, effective coordination with suppliers and transporters,

optimum inventory movement, and smooth material flow from supplier to point of use.

Key Responsibilities

● Inbound Logistics Management: Manage end-to-end inbound logistics activities for direct-buying materials to ensure timely and uninterrupted material availability at the plant.

● Supplier Coordination: Coordinate with direct suppliers for material dispatches, delivery schedules, shortages, delays, and other logistics-related issues.

● Material Movement Planning: Plan and monitor daily material movement from suppliers to the plant as per production and material requirements.

● Transporter Management: Coordinate with transporters for vehicle placement, loading,

transit, delivery, and timely unloading of materials at the plant.

● Delivery Performance Monitoring: Monitor supplier and transporter delivery performance and ensure adherence to defined delivery schedules and logistics KPIs.

● Line & Production Support: Ensure timely availability of materials at the required point of use and coordinate with Stores, PPC, Production, Purchase, and other departments to avoid line stoppages.

● Inventory & Material Flow: Monitor inbound material flow, inventory levels, pending deliveries, transit stock, and shortages to ensure optimum material availability.

● Logistics Cost Optimization:



Identify opportunities to optimize transportation costs,

vehicle utilization, route planning, freight costs, and overall inbound logistics expenses.

● Shortage & Delay Management: Track material shortages, delayed deliveries, vehicle delays, and supply disruptions and ensure timely corrective actions with suppliers and logistics partners.

● MIS & Data Management: Prepare and maintain daily MIS related to supplier dispatches,

vehicle movement, material receipt, pending deliveries, shortages, logistics performance,

and other key parameters.

● Cross-functional Coordination: Coordinate with Purchase, PPC, Stores, Production,

Quality, Finance, suppliers, and transporters to ensure smooth inbound material flow.

● Process Improvement: Identify and implement Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives to improve delivery reliability, material flow, logistics efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

● System & Documentation: Ensure proper documentation and system updates related to material dispatch, transportation, delivery, and receipt of direct-buying materials.

What We’re Looking For

Experience: Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in Inbound Logistics / Direct





Procurement Logistics / Supply Chain / Material Management, preferably in the Tractor /

Automotive / Agricultural Equipment / Auto Component manufacturing industry.

Domain Expertise: Strong practical knowledge of direct-buying procurement logistics, supplier coordination, inbound material movement, transportation management, material planning,

and plant logistics.

Supplier & Transporter Management: Hands-on experience in coordinating with direct suppliers, transporters, logistics partners, and resolving delivery-related issues.

Material Management: Good understanding of inventory management, shortage control,

delivery schedules, transit stock, material flow, and line-side material availability.

Cost & Performance Management: Knowledge of freight cost optimization, vehicle utilization,

logistics KPIs, supplier delivery performance, and cost reduction initiatives.

Data & Reporting: Positive knowledge of MIS, Excel, ERP/SAP, logistics tracking, delivery monitoring, and data analysis.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in handling material shortages, delayed deliveries, supply disruptions, and logistics issues.

Leadership & Communication: Strong communication, coordination, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Education: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, Industrial

Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related discipline.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
