About the Role :

Applix is hiring a full-time Supply Chain Engineer – Sourcing to work at Customer location in Chennai. This role focused on sourcing and resourcing iron castings /Steel Casting—managing the entire process from quotation to production.

Candidate will lead source move projects, collaborate across global teams, and drive supplier readiness while balancing quality, cost, and delivery targets. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing, or engineering, and experience managing complex sourcing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

- Own and manage source move projects for complex iron castings /Steel Castings
- Lead quoting process, analyze supplier quotes, and determine the best Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
- Coordinate tool transfers and monitor buffer inventory during transitions
- Work closely with Category Buyers, Supplier Development Engineers, Design Engineers, and other stakeholders




- Drive supplier onboarding and ensure readiness to meet quality and volume expectations
- Prepare reports and presentations for project stakeholders and leadership
- Ensure compliance with sourcing policies and global supply chain practices

Required Skills & Experience

- Minimum 6 plus years of experience in: Preferably from Automotive / Construction Machinery / Agriculture OEM’s
- Purchasing
- Iron /Steel Casting - Supply Chain or Supplier Management
- Manufacturing Quality
- Strong analytical and presentation skills; ability to assess quotes and cost models
- Strong communication, negotiation, and coordination abilities across global teams
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project); experience with Power BI or Tableau is a plus
- Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
