Supplier Technical Assistant (STA) Purchase (BESS Vertical)

Department -Purchase / Supply Chain

Reporting To - Manager Purchase

Location - Chakan - Pune

Job Purpose -

To serve as a technical interface between suppliers and internal cross-functional teams by ensuring supplier capability development, process compliance, product quality, timely project execution, and successful new product introduction for BESS-related components and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Technical Development

- Evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities, infrastructure, and technical competencies.
- Conduct supplier technical audits and capability assessments.
- Support development of current suppliers and alternate sourcing opportunities.
- Drive localization initiatives for BESS components and materials.

New Product Development (NPD) Support
- Coordinate supplier involvement during new product development and industrialization.
- Ensure timely submission and approval of APQP, PPAP, FMEA,



Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.
- Track supplier readiness for prototype, pilot, and mass production stages.
- Support engineering changes and product transfer activities.

Supplier Quality Management
- Monitor supplier quality performance and process adherence.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier quality issues.
- Participate in supplier process validation and quality improvement activities.
- Ensure supplier compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Project Management & Coordination
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams.
- Track project timelines and supplier deliverables.
- Review technical specifications, drawings, BOMs, and test requirements with suppliers.
- Facilitate resolution of technical concerns during project execution.

Process & Continuous Improvement
- Promote Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives at supplier locations.
- Drive productivity, quality enhancement, and cost optimization projects.
- Support supplier capacity planning and risk mitigation activities.
