Job Responsibilities:

- Supervise day-to-day operations of the Fettling Shop including grinding, chipping, shot blasting, cutting, dressing and finishing of castings.

- Ensure proper removal of risers, runners, gates, fins and excess metal as per drawing/specifications.

- Allocate manpower and monitor productivity as per production plan.

- Ensure casting quality, dimensional requirements and minimum rejection/rework.

- Coordinate with Foundry, Quality, Maintenance and Production Planning teams.

- Monitor and control material handling, tools, consumables and equipment used in fettling operations.

- Ensure proper operation and upkeep of grinding machines, gas cutting equipment, shot blasting machines and other fettling equipment.

- Maintain daily production, rejection, rework and manpower records.

- Implement 5S, safety practices and PPE compliance in the shop.

- Identify process issues and take corrective actions to improve productivity and quality.

- Train and guide operators/workmen on safe and effective fettling practices.
