Burns & McDonnell India offers an exciting opportunity for an Associate Senior Structural Engineer seeking to advance their career within the fast-paced Global Facilities Services (GFS) practice, specializing in the design and construction of high-tech building facilities.

GFS is a multidisciplinary team delivering engineering services across the United States and Canada for a diverse portfolio of facility projects, including Food & Beverage, Consumer Products, Hyperscale Data Centers, Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Life Solutions, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Commercial, and Institutional facilities.

We are seeking an experienced, Structural Engineer to join our growing Global Facilities team in India. In this role, you will lead and support structural design and engineering activities for a variety of facility projects. Reporting to the Section Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening and expanding the structural engineering team, while contributing to the successful delivery of current and future facility design projects.

- High level Overview of Engineering Scope for Projects in GFS :

- Structural analysis and design in compliance with American/Canadian standards
- Design steel buildings, including process buildings, industrial buildings, warehouses, canopies, and similar structures.
- Diaphragm analysis and design for both rigid and versatile diaphragm systems.
- Design steel structures such as pipe racks, pipe bridges, platforms, stair towers, and pipe trestles.
- Design modular structures and structures located in high-seismic regions.




- Design of structures supporting static & dynamic equipment.
- Foundation design for buildings and structures including both shallow and deep foundations.
- Design of reinforced concrete retaining walls, CMU walls, underground pits, containments etc.

Key Responsibilities

- Responsible for analysis and design of various super structures and foundations for industrial facilities, design of steel and concrete buildings.
- Preparing detail design calculation report and reviewing the detail drawings and layout.
- Handle project independently and lead a team of engineers and designers
- Perform and check calculations and designs using both computer-aided and manual design techniques.
- Geotechnical report review, analysis and provide comments/clarifications
- Preparing engineering cost and man-hour estimates and schedules.
- Review of equipment vendor drawings and fabrication drawings.
- Provide leadership, guidance, instruction, and mentorship to less experienced staff members.
- Capture internal client requirements and if needed, advise them regarding structural/civil systems/requirements available to meet their needs.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, client(s) and other stake holder(s)



to develop a clash free system design.
- Responsible to manage the assigned scope within agreed schedule and budget.
- Willing to advance in career by taking increased responsibilities on projects and organization.
- Responsible for self-checking and producing accurate work.
- Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies.
- A committed team player able to work on own initiative.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution. Masters in Structural Engineering an added advantage.
- Candidates with 3 – 6 years of working experience.
- Candidates with experience in Oil and Gas industry projects are preferred.
- Knowledge of American, Canadian design codes will be added advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong Interpersonal skills.
- Dynamic individual with a strong eagerness to learn and a genuine interest in a stable, long-term commitment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Tools:
- Exposure to any design software / tools like STAAD Pro, Risa 3D, RAM Connections, AutoCAD etc.
- Knowledge of Revit or Navisworks will be added advantage
- Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Outlook, OneNote
