Position Overview

We are hiring a capable and experienced Store Assistant Manager for Weld Assembly operations. The candidate should be able to handle complete weld assembly material management, raw material sheets, child parts, bought-out parts, welding consumables, inventory control, store operations, and coordination with production teams to ensure smooth and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Main Responsibilities

- Handle complete store activities related to weld assembly, including material receipt, inspection coordination, storage, issue, return, and reconciliation.
- Manage raw material sheets, sheet metal components, coils, blanks, tubes, fabricated parts, child parts, bought-out components, fasteners, fixtures, jigs, and welding consumables.
- Ensure timely availability of all materials required for weld assembly production as per daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
- Maintain proper stock accuracy for item code, description, grade, thickness, size, quantity, heat number, batch number, location, and traceability records.
- Issue materials to production as per BOM, production plan, material requisition, and actual weld assembly requirement.
- Monitor material consumption, shortages, excess stock, rejection, scrap, rework, and variance on a regular basis.
- Coordinate with production, PPC, purchase, quality, maintenance, suppliers, and internal stores for smooth material flow and shortage management.
- Implement FIFO, proper stacking, tagging, bin location, identification, safe handling, and storage practices for raw material and assembly components.
- Control line stoppages by ensuring advance material planning and quick response to production requirements.




- Prepare daily MIS, stock statement, RM consumption report, shortage report, ageing report, rejection report, and inventory reconciliation.
- Support physical stock verification, cycle counting, internal audits, customer audits, and statutory/store compliance activities.
- Lead store team members, material handlers, forklift/crane operators, and shop floor support staff to achieve daily operational targets.

Required Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of store management, raw material management, inventory control, and weld assembly material flow.
- Good understanding of weld shop processes such as MIG welding, spot welding, robotic welding, fixtures, jigs, and assembly line requirements.
- Ability to understand BOM, production planning data, engineering drawings, material specifications, and daily line requirements.
- Hands-on experience in ERP/SAP, MS Excel, inventory reports, stock reconciliation, and MIS preparation.
- Good knowledge of FIFO, 5S, Kaizen, safety standards, material handling, traceability, and audit documentation.
- Strong manpower handling, coordination, follow-up, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under production pressure and ensure timely support to shop floor operations.

Candidate Qualification
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Any Graduate, Production, Automobile, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 6 to 10 years of experience in store operations, raw material management, weld shop, weld assembly, production store, or manufacturing material control.
- Experience in automotive, auto component, fabrication, sheet metal, engineering, or manufacturing industry will be preferred.
