Designation: Staff Nurse

Reports To: Nursing Superintendent / Assistant Nursing Superintendent / Unit In-charge

Job Purpose To provide protected, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neonates, infants, and children in the NICU and PICU, ensuring continuous monitoring and timely intervention.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients.
- Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, intake/output, and clinical condition regularly.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
- Manage and monitor ventilators, CPAP, oxygen therapy, infusion pumps, and other critical-care equipment.
- Assist doctors during emergency procedures, resuscitation, and critical interventions.
- Maintain accurate nursing notes, medication records, and patient charts.
- Follow infection-control, hand-hygiene, and biomedical-waste management protocols.
- Identify changes in patient condition and immediately report to the treating doctor/unit in-charge.
- Maintain proper documentation of all procedures and patient care activities.




- Provide appropriate care for IV lines, central lines, feeding tubes, urinary catheters, and other devices.
- Support parents and families by providing appropriate information and emotional support.
- Ensure cleanliness, availability, and proper handling of NICU/PICU equipment and supplies.
- Participate in handovers, rounds, audits, training programs, and quality-improvement activities.
- Follow hospital policies, nursing protocols, safety standards, and professional ethics.

Qualification
- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
- Valid nursing registration.

Experience
- Preferably 1–3 years of experience in NICU/PICU or pediatric critical care.
- Freshers with relevant training may be considered.
