About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our cable access engineering team. In this strategic role, you will work directly with our US-based systems architects, hardware, and software teams to develop and maintain firmware for next-generation Full Duplex (FDX) Cable Amplifiers and smart RF nodes. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing firmware that integrates with Broadcom broadband SoC platforms, enabling energetic RF control loops, telemetry, and remote management functionalities.

You will play a key role in bridging hardware and software, ensuring seamless communication, control, and monitoring of complex cable plant equipment. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects that define the future of broadband access technology, working in a collaborative environment that values innovation and technical excellence.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, complemented by at least 5 years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware development. Proficiency in modern C and C++ is essential,



along with a strong understanding of RF fundamentals, dynamic signal management, and control loops such as Automatic Gain Control (AGC).

Experience working with Broadcom broadband SoCs and SDKs at the register and hardware abstraction levels is highly desirable. Candidates should have deep expertise in Embedded Linux driver development, Linux networking internals, and peripheral bus protocols like I2C, SPI, and UART. Practical knowledge of implementing telemetry protocols such as gNMI, Protobuf, JSON, and MQTT for real-time device management and streaming telemetry is required.

Excellent communication skills in English and experience collaborating effectively with US-based or distributed teams are also critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities

Design and develop low-level firmware utilizing Broadcom SDKs tailored for broadband and cable access SoCs to initialize, configure, and monitor RF hardware components. Implement embedded control loops for RF functions including AGC, tilt, gain, and echo cancellation in Full Duplex RF amplification stages. Control on-board peripherals such as RF attenuators, equalizers, power amplifiers, and environmental sensors through I2C, SPI, and GPIO interfaces.

Develop and maintain custom Linux kernel drivers, character devices, and user-space daemons that interact directly with hardware registers and memory-mapped I/O. Architect and implement modern telemetry and remote management solutions using gNMI, Protobuf, JSON, and MQTT to enable real-time health monitoring,



RF performance metrics, and device configuration. Collaborate closely with US-based firmware, RF hardware, and systems engineering teams through design and code reviews, architectural planning, and joint problem-solving sessions.

Perform hardware bring-up on custom evaluation boards and production hardware, utilizing oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and RF spectrum analyzers to validate firmware functionality and hardware integration. Continuously optimize firmware for performance, reliability, and scalability, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
