WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Own architectural decisions for Android app modules Clean Architecture, MVVM, modularization, multi-module builds and set technical direction.

- Work with stakeholders (product owners, project managers) to define, clarify, and challenge requirements where technical constraints or better approaches exist.
- Drive API contract discussions with backend and cross-functional teams, ensuring clear, robust, and scalable integration points between app and services.
- Lead code reviews and set the technical bar for the Android codebase enforcing clean architecture, testability, and maintainability standards.
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pairing, PR reviews, and structured feedback.
- Champion modern security principles and lead their application across the app's architecture.
- Contribute to the team's technical roadmap, including tooling, dependency upgrades, and platform migrations.

What you'll need

- 5+ years developing production Android applications using Kotlin, with a track record of owning features end-to-end.
- Expert-level proficiency in Jetpack Compose, with hands-on experience building up-to-date, responsive, and maintainable Android UIs at scale.
- Proven experience shipping and maintaining successful Android applications on Google Play.




- Deep knowledge of the Android ecosystem, including third-party libraries, and the judgment to evaluate build-vs-buy trade-offs.
- Strong grasp of Android UI design patterns and Material Design guidelines, with experience setting UI/UX standards for a team.
- Experience integrating mobile apps with backend web services (REST); comfortable driving contract design, not just consuming APIs.
- Strong command of Kotlin's functional and asynchronous/coroutine concepts, and asynchronous computing principles more broadly.
- Understanding of app performance metrics (startup time, memory, jank/frame rate, ANRs) and resolving performance issues.
