Job Purpose

To manage all land acquisition, land management, possession, compensation, land records, and stakeholderrelated activities for the coal MDO project, ensuring timely availability of land in line with the mine development and production schedule.

Principal Accountability

Supporting Actions

Land Acquisition & Availability

Prepare and implement land acquisition plans aligned with mine/project schedules.

Coordinate with government authorities, landowners and internal departments.

Monitor acquisition milestones and identify bottlenecks.

Ensure timely possession and handover of acquired land.

Maintain updated records of acquired, possessed and pending land.

Land Records & Documentation

Maintain accurate records of ownership, acquisition, possession, mutation, transfer and lease matters.

Verify land titles, ownership and supporting documents

Coordinate with revenue authorities for mutation, demarcation and correction of records.

Ensure secure custody of original land documents.

Reconcile physical possession with land records periodically.

Compensation & Landowner Matters

Facilitate assessment and processing of compensation.

Monitor compensation payment and documentation status.

Resolve landowner claims, objections and grievances.

Coordinate with Fice, Legal and R&R; functions on complex cases.

Ensure compensation is processed as per applicable law and company policy.

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

Ensure compliance with applicable land, revenue, mining and R&R; requirements.

Monitor changes in relevant laws, rules and government notifications.

Ensure timely submission of statutory applications and reports.

Coordinate during government inspections and hearings.

Support internal and external audits and close compliance gaps.

Stakeholder & Community Management

Maintain effective relationships with landowners,



affected communities and government authorities.

Conduct consultations and meetings with stakeholders.

Address landrelated grievances promptly.

Coordinate with district/local administration on sensitive issues.

Support management in handling landrelated disputes and community concerns.

Land Disputes & Legal Matters

Identify and monitor disputed land parcels. Maintain a land dispute register and track case status. Coordinate with Legal Department on court cases and notices.

Provide documents and factual inputs for legal proceedings.

Follow up with authorities and recommend resolution strategies.

Land for Mining & Project Development

Assess land requirements based on mine and project development plans.

Coordinate with Mine Planning, Operations, Projects, Environment and Civil functions.

Identify critical land parcels affecting mining and infrastructure activities.

Develop action plans for delayed acquisition/possession.

Report land availability against project milestones.

MIS & Management Reporting

Prepare periodic MIS on acquisition, possession, compensation etc

Highlight critical risks, delays and pending matters.

Maintain land availability dashboards.

Provide data and analysis for management reviews and audits.

Recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Risk Management

Identify landrelated operational, legal and stakeholder risks.

Develop mitigation plans for critical land issues.

Escalate highrisk matters to senior management in a timely manner.

Monitor implementation of risk mitigation measures.
