Job Summary

We are looking for a strong, hands-on Senior Software Engineer - Java with solid experience in backend development, application design, debugging, and production support. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable, secure, and reliable Java applications, working closely with Product, QA, DevOps/SRE, and other engineering teams. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on coding, application design, code reviews, performance optimization, debugging, and production-quality software development.

Responsibilities

- Develop, debug, optimize, and maintain production-grade Java applications.

- Apply clean code principles, SOLID concepts, design patterns, modularity, and testability.

- Work with Java fundamentals including collections, generics, exception handling, I/O, concurrency, multithreading, thread pools, executors, and asynchronous programming.

- Write maintainable, scalable, and production-ready code.

- Participate in code reviews with a focus on correctness, performance, security, maintainability, and coding standards.

Spring, APIs & Microservices

- Design and develop applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.

- Develop RESTful APIs and web services.

- Work with dependency injection, configuration, validation, security, persistence, and transactions.

- Build and maintain microservices or modular application architectures.

- Apply API versioning, error handling, idempotency, pagination, timeout/retry mechanisms, and backward compatibility.

- Work with JPA/Hibernate or equivalent ORM technologies.





- Identify and address ORM-related performance issues such as N+1 queries, lazy loading, and transaction management.

Database, Cache & Messaging

- Work with RDBMS and SQL, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or equivalent.

- Design database schemas and work on indexing, query optimization, transactions, locking, and performance tuning.

- Understand database scalability, replication, partitioning, and high-availability concepts.

- Work with caching technologies such as Redis and NoSQL/search technologies such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or Cassandra.

- Develop solutions using messaging/event-driven technologies such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, or equivalent.

- Understand message delivery, ordering, retries, dead-letter handling, consumer scaling, and idempotency.

Requirements

- 8 to 10 Yrs. of strong hands-on experience in Java backend development.

- Strong experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.

- Good understanding of application design, distributed systems, and production engineering.

- Strong experience with SQL and relational databases.

- Experience with messaging/event-driven architectures.

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

- Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering workplace.

- Strong focus on code quality, scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
