Sr. Quality Engineer / Sr. QC – Electroplating & Watch Assembly

Job Purpose To ensure effective implementation and monitoring of quality standards across IQC, PQC, and FQC, with specific responsibility for electroplating, watch case assembly, and watch assembly processes. The role involves maintaining the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, identifying process-related quality issues, and driving corrective and preventive actions for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- IQC, PQC & FQC Monitoring
- Monitor and control Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Process Quality Control (PQC), and Final Quality Control (FQC) activities.
- Ensure incoming materials and components meet defined quality specifications and approved standards.
- Monitor in-process quality during electroplating, case assembly, and watch assembly.
- Ensure final products are inspected and released as per customer specifications and internal quality standards.
- Review inspection reports, rejection/rework data, and quality trends.
- Ensure proper implementation of inspection plans, check sheets, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Electroplating & Assembly Quality
- Monitor quality parameters related to electroplating, including surface finish, plating thickness, color/shade, adhesion, scratches, stains, corrosion, and other cosmetic defects.
- Monitor quality during watch case assembly and complete watch assembly.
- Identify process abnormalities and coordinate with Production and Process/Engineering teams for corrective action.
- Ensure proper control of defective, rejected, and reworked components.
- Quality Management System (QMS)
- Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System.
- Maintain quality procedures, SOPs, work instructions, inspection standards, formats, and quality records.




- Ensure compliance with documented processes and quality requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits and support timely closure of audit findings.
- ISO & IATF Knowledge
- Working knowledge of relevant ISO Quality Management System requirements and IATF 16949 requirements.
- Support implementation of quality-system requirements within the manufacturing process.
- Assist in audit preparation, documentation, compliance monitoring, and corrective-action activities.
- Ensure proper control of quality records and documented information.
- Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action
- Analyze internal and customer-related quality problems and identify their root causes.
- Use quality tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, Pareto Analysis, and 8D for problem solving.
- Implement and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and prevent recurrence of defects.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve recurring quality issues.
- Quality Improvement
- Analyze rejection, rework, defect, and process-performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Drive initiatives for defect reduction, process improvement, and customer satisfaction.
- Establish and monitor quality standards and defect samples for critical processes.
- Support continuous improvement activities and promote quality awareness among production personnel.
- Team & Coordination
- Guide and supervise Quality Inspectors/Engineers involved in IQC, PQC, and FQC.




- Train operators and quality personnel on inspection methods, quality standards, and defect identification.
- Coordinate with Production and other departments to ensure quality requirements are consistently achieved.
- Escalate major quality issues to management and ensure timely resolution.

Required Skills & Knowledge

- Strong knowledge of IQC, PQC, and FQC.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality-system requirements.
- Good understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and CAPA.
- Knowledge of 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto Analysis, and basic quality tools.
- Knowledge of electroplating quality and cosmetic inspection is preferred.
- Understanding of watch case assembly and watch assembly quality requirements.
- Positive analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to prepare and analyze quality reports and MIS.

Educational Qualification Diploma/B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical

Experience

Typically 8–10 years of experience in Quality/QC, preferably in electroplating, precision components, watch manufacturing, metal finishing, or assembly manufacturing.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
