Mandatory Technical Skills

- 5–9+ years of relevant database/data engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise in MongoDB administration and architecture.
- Strong experience with MongoDB Atlas.
- Good understanding of Azure Cosmos DB – API for MongoDB.
- Hands-on experience with database migration, preferably Cosmos DB → MongoDB Atlas or similar MongoDB migrations.
- Strong understanding of:
- MongoDB document/data modeling
- Index design and performance tuning
- Aggregation pipelines
- Query optimization
- Replica Sets
- Sharding




- Backup and recovery
- High availability
- Change Streams
- Understanding of Cosmos DB RU-based throttling, including 429 Too Many Requests scenarios.
- Ability to identify behavioral and feature differences between Cosmos DB MongoDB API and native MongoDB.
- Experience with migration approaches/tools such as MongoDB Atlas migration capabilities, change streams, or custom migration utilities.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, including VPC/VNet peering, private connectivity, firewall/network controls, and security.
- Ability to understand application code/database interaction and work effectively with Java development teams.
