Our focus is on reliable, cost-optimized, and sustainable power solutions for energy-intensive industries.

Position Overview:

Lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control function for the Power Cable Business, covering product development, sourcing, contract/partner manufacturing, testing, customer approvals, and final product supply. The role will ensure compliance of raw materials, processes and finished cables with customer specifications, BIS, IS, IEC, UL and applicable quality standards, while driving defect reduction, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Establish and maintain robust quality systems and controls to ensure consistent product quality, technical compliance, reliable manufacturing, supplier performance, and customer satisfaction across LV, MV, HV, control, and specialty cable products.

Work closely with R&D;, Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing Partners, Production, Commercial, Sales, and Business Development teams to ensure products are technically compliant, manufacturable, and consistently delivered as per customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance & Quality Control

- Lead end-to-end QA/QC activities for power, control, and specialty cable products.
- Establish inspection, testing, and process-control plans for incoming materials, manufacturing processes, and finished products.
- Ensure products meet approved specifications, applicable standards, and customer requirements.
- Monitor and analyse defects, rejection, rework, scrap, and quality trends.
- Establish effective controls across manufacturing and supply-chain activities to prevent quality issues.
- Drive a proactive quality and defect-prevention culture across the business.

2. Cable Testing & Product Compliance

- Oversee routine, sample, type, high-voltage, and other applicable electrical and performance tests.
- Ensure compliance with applicable BIS, IS, IEC, UL, ISO, and customer-specific requirements.
- Establish and maintain approved test procedures, acceptance criteria, test formats, and product traceability.
- Review test results and approve products for release based on defined quality requirements.
- Coordinate testing and certification requirements for new products, customer approvals, and product industrialisation.
- Ensure readiness for customer, certification, and statutory testing requirements.

3. Quality Management System & Audits

- Establish, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).




- Ensure QMS requirements are effectively implemented across internal operations, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
- Lead BIS, ISO, customer, internal, and third-party audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations, non-conformities, and improvement actions.
- Develop and maintain quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, formats, and quality records.
- Drive quality awareness, standardisation, compliance, and continuous improvement.

4. Manufacturing & Process Quality

- Establish quality standards and process controls for own, outsourced, and contract manufacturing.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes, production capability, testing facilities, and quality controls.
- Monitor critical process parameters and product-quality performance.
- Support production trials, process validation, first production runs, and product industrialisation.
- Identify process risks and implement preventive controls.
- Drive reduction in process defects, rejection, rework, scrap, and Cost of Poor Quality.
- Support development of manufacturing partners and future in-house manufacturing capabilities.

5. Customer Quality & CAPA

- Lead management of customer complaints, NCRs, 8D reports, CAPA, and root-cause investigations.
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with Production, Engineering, R&D;, Sourcing, and manufacturing partners.
- Ensure timely and sustainable closure of customer complaints and quality issues.
- Drive reduction in repeat complaints, field failures, internal rejection, and rework.
- Provide technical support during customer inspections, audits, product approvals, and quality reviews.
- Maintain effective communication with customers on quality-related matters.

6. Supplier & Manufacturing Partner Quality

- Define quality requirements and acceptance criteria for critical raw materials, components, cables, and manufacturing partners.
- Conduct supplier quality evaluations, factory assessments, process audits, and performance reviews.
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality capability, process controls, testing facilities, certifications, and performance.
- Issue and monitor Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) where required.
- Work closely with Sourcing and Engineering teams to resolve supplier and manufacturing quality issues.
- Monitor supplier rejection, material defects, corrective actions, and improvement initiatives.
- Support qualification and approval of new suppliers and manufacturing partners.

7. New Product Development & Industrialisation

- Work closely with R&D;, Design, Engineering, Sourcing, and Manufacturing teams during new product development.
- Establish quality requirements and testing plans for new cable products.
- Support prototype development, sample approval, testing, production trials, validation, and industrialisation.
- Ensure products are compliant, manufacturable, and capable of meeting customer requirements.
- Support design-to-cost and design-for-manufacturing initiatives from a quality perspective.
- Ensure appropriate product documentation, test records,



specifications, and traceability are established.

8. Calibration & Laboratory Management

- Ensure timely calibration, verification, and maintenance of testing, measuring, and inspection equipment.
- Maintain laboratory procedures, equipment records, calibration certificates, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure testing facilities are adequate for routine testing, product validation, certification, and customer requirements.
- Maintain control of test samples, test records, reference standards, and laboratory documentation.
- Ensure laboratory personnel follow approved test methods, procedures, and safety requirements.

9. Quality Team & Cross-Functional Leadership

- Lead, develop, train, and mentor the Quality team.
- Establish transparent responsibilities, objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations.
- Coordinate with R&D;, Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Production, Planning, Stores, Sales, Commercial, and Business Development teams.
- Drive cross-functional quality-improvement initiatives and ensure timely execution.
- Escalate critical quality, technical, supplier, manufacturing, and customer risks to Management with appropriate action plans.
- Report quality performance, complaints, audit status, CAPA, supplier quality, key risks, and improvement initiatives to Management.

Qualifications Education & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Qualification in Quality Management, Manufacturing, Auditing, or a related field will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 8 -12+ years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control, preferably in cable or electrical-product manufacturing.
- Strong experience in power cables, wires, electrical products, or related industries.
- Strong practical knowledge of cable manufacturing processes, electrical testing, inspection, and quality requirements.
- Working knowledge of applicable BIS, IS, IEC, UL, ISO, and customer-specific requirements.
- Hands-on experience in NCR, CAPA, 8D, RCA, SPC, MSA, and quality-improvement methodologies.
- Experience in customer, BIS, ISO, internal, and third-party audits.
- Experience in incoming, in-process, and final inspection and testing.
- Proven experience in supplier quality, manufacturing-partner quality, customer complaint management, and QMS implementation.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, problem-solving, and team-management capabilities.
