Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Fashion Designer with strong exposure to luxury Indian fashion, couture and premium prêt. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of design development, garment construction, fabrics, prints, embroidery and end-to-end product execution.

Candidates who have worked with well-known Indian designer houses such as Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi, Tarun Tahiliani, Torani, Masaba, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Mayyur or similar established luxury fashion brands will be strongly preferred.

The role involves working closely with the founder/design head to develop distinctive collections and ensure their successful execution from concept to final garment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and development of seasonal collections across luxury couture, occasion wear, bridal and premium prêt.
- Develop strong design concepts, mood boards, colour stories, fabric directions and collection narratives in line with the brand's luxury positioning.
- Research and interpret global and Indian fashion trends, silhouettes, colours, textiles, prints, embroideries and surface techniques.
- Create and develop original silhouettes, garment details, print concepts, embroidery placements and design variations while maintaining the brand's distinctive design language.
- Take ownership of the complete design process — from concept and initial sketch to final approved garment.
- Work closely with the founder/design head to translate creative vision into commercially viable collections.
- Develop colour palettes and seasonal colour stories, including selection and application of Pantone shades across collections.
- Have strong knowledge of Indian textiles, luxury fabrics, prints, embroidery techniques, embellishments and surface ornamentation.
- Work closely with printers, embroiderers, artisans, fabric suppliers and production teams to ensure the design intent is accurately executed.
- Create detailed design sheets, technical specifications, embroidery/print placements and garment details for the production team.
- Supervise sampling and prototype development, identify design issues and provide corrections before production.




- Conduct regular sample reviews and quality checks to ensure garments meet the desired luxury standards.
- Coordinate with the production team on fabric consumption, construction, finishing, embroidery, printing, trims and embellishments.
- Ensure consistency of fit, proportions, silhouettes, colour, print placement and finishing across the collection.
- Develop new techniques and design details to continuously elevate the brand's product offering.
- Identify opportunities for new silhouettes, categories and commercially relevant products based on market demand and customer preferences.
- Study competitor and designer-house collections to understand market positioning, design direction and evolving luxury fashion trends, while maintaining originality.
- Work with merchandising and production teams to ensure designs are commercially viable, cost-conscious and production-friendly without compromising the luxury aesthetic.
- Guide junior designers and design team members on concept development, research, sketching, fabric selection and execution.
- Review and approve design developments prepared by the team.
- Maintain and organise the seasonal design calendar, collection development timelines, sampling schedules and approvals.
- Participate in fittings, trials and final garment approvals, making necessary design and fit corrections.
- Support the brand during lookbook shoots, fashion presentations, collection launches and styling requirements when required.
- Stay updated with international fashion weeks, luxury fashion houses, Indian designer collections, textile innovations and emerging design trends.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- 8+ years of relevant experience in fashion design, preferably with established luxury Indian designer / couture houses.
- Candidates with prior experience working with well-known designer brands such as Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi, Tarun Tahiliani, Torani, Masaba, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Mayyur, JJ Valaya or similar luxury designer labels will be strongly preferred.
- Should have hands-on experience in collection development and end-to-end product execution, not only conceptual design.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating original design thinking, luxury aesthetics and technical understanding.
- Should have excellent knowledge of fabrics, prints, embroidery, colour combinations, silhouettes and garment construction.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, founder-led luxury fashion environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities are essential.
- Should have the ability to mentor a design team and independently drive collection development.
- Candidates from purely fashion merchandising, styling or graphic-design backgrounds without substantial garment-design experience will not be considered.

Role Objective To lead the brand's creative design direction and product development, ensuring every collection is distinctive, luxurious, commercially relevant and executed to the highest standards from concept through final production.

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
