Role Overview

Gate Manufacturing Private Limited is looking for an experienced Senior Costing Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Steel Stamping, Sheet Metal, Fabrication and Machining Costing.

The role will be responsible for product costing, RFQ costing, BOM analysis, process costing, tooling costing, quotation preparation and profitability analysis. The candidate will work closely with Engineering, Production, Procurement, SCM and Sales teams to ensure accurate and commercially viable costing.

Key Responsibilities

Product & RFQ Costing

- Prepare detailed costing for steel stamped, sheet metal, fabricated and machined components.
- Prepare RFQ and quotation costing based on customer drawings, BOM and specifications.
- Calculate raw material, process, tooling, labour, overhead and secondary operation costs.
- Evaluate product cost and commercial feasibility before quotation submission.

Steel Stamping & Process Costing

- Develop costing for steel stamping and press components.
- Evaluate progressive die, tandem die and press operation requirements.
- Calculate material consumption, blank size, strip layout, scrap/wastage and material yield.
- Estimate tooling, die, setup, cycle time, press-hour and conversion costs.
- Evaluate processes such as blanking, piercing, bending,



forming and deep drawing.

Manufacturing Costing

- Prepare process-wise costing for laser cutting, bending, welding, fabrication, CNC machining, assembly and surface treatment.
- Analyse machine hour rates, cycle time, setup time, labour and overhead costs.
- Coordinate with Production and Engineering teams to validate costing assumptions.

Drawing & Feasibility Analysis

- Review 2D drawings, 3D models, BOM, GD&T; and specifications for costing.
- Assess material grade, thickness, tolerances and manufacturing feasibility.
- Identify tooling and process requirements during the costing stage.

Cost Optimization

- Identify opportunities to reduce material consumption, scrap, cycle time and manufacturing costs.
- Support value engineering and alternate process/material evaluation.
- Compare estimated cost with actual manufacturing cost and analyse variances.

Supplier & Commercial Costing

- Analyse supplier quotations and validate manufacturing costs.
- Support procurement and supplier negotiations through cost benchmarking.
- Prepare margin and profitability analysis for customer quotations.

Reporting & Coordination

- Maintain costing sheets, databases and pricing trackers.




- Prepare cost comparison and variance reports for management.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Procurement, SCM, Finance and Sales teams.

Required Qualifications

- B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
- 7–8 years of relevant costing experience in manufacturing.
- Mandatory experience in Steel Stamping / Press Components Costing.
- Hands-on knowledge of Progressive Die and Tandem Die costing.
- Robust experience in Sheet Metal, Fabrication and Machining Costing.
- Experience in RFQ costing, BOM costing, should costing and product estimation.
- Knowledge of material yield, scrap calculation, cycle time and machine-hour costing.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
- Good knowledge of Excel and costing tools/models.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
