Responsible for organizing the BOM components and components library for designers.
Ensure the accurate evaluation, creation, and lifecycle management of electronic components, thereby enabling efficient hardware design, cost optimization, and cross-functional collaboration-contributing directly to product quality, design integrity, and operational excellence across the organization.
1. Current Component Requirement Validation
- Assess new component requests from hardware and design engineers through part request tool.
- Verify the availability of the Manufacturing Part Number (MPN) in the internal library database.
- If unavailable, validate the component lifecycle and gather technical specifications from the manufacturer.
- Initiate the library creation process for validated components and add data in Master database.
2. Component Design and Library Creation
- Design component symbols and footprints in accordance with IPC standards and internal guidelines.
- Complete and submit symbol and footprint checklists for review and approval.
- Upon validation, integrate component data into the design tool and release it to the server library.
- Notify the requester with the assigned GBC for the newly created component and close part request ticket (BO code review process need to add)
3. Bill of Materials (BOM) Review and Validation
- Review BOM submissions from designers for each project using standardized checklists.
- Validate all listed components and escalate discrepancies for correction.
- Identify and propose alternative components when required, ensuring BOM completeness and accuracy.
4. Data Management and Cross-Functional Support
- Maintain and update component data in design tools and master databases.
- Provide technical data support to purchasing, SAP, and plant teams.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of component-related information across systems and departments.
5. Server Library and Lifecycle Management
- Update existing components in the library based on designer requests and IPC compliance.
- Manage component lifecycle transitions (e.g., draft to prototype, prototype to production).
- Oversee End-of-Life (EOL) and obsolescence processes for components.
- Monitor library health and implement updates based on manufacturer Part Change Notifications (PCNs).
Preferred candidate profile a) Qualifications
- Minimum Qualification required: B tech/BE in Electronics & Electrical
- Qualifications preferred: M tech
b) Work Experience
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience
- Minimum 2 years in automotive industry (IPC standards)
- MS Excel, CAD tools (Altium), SAP, Library Management Tool, JIRA, etc.
