Senior Civil & Structural Engineer (12-14 years)

Key Responsibilities

Technical Delivery

Own the C&S; design basis, calculations, and key deliverables across project phases (Feasibility, Concept, Basic/FEED, Detailed Engineering, IFC, As Built).

Perform and review structural analysis & design of steel and reinforced concrete structures (e.g., buildings, pipe racks, equipment foundations, tanks, cable racks, culverts, retaining structures).

Prepare and/or review design calculations, material take offs (MTOs), specifications, data sheets, construction notes, and BoQs.

Prepare and check drawings: GA, plans, sections, reinforcement detailing, connection details, foundation layouts, civil layouts, standard details.

Ensure designs meet relevant codes, standards, and project specifications (e.g., IS/IRC/IS:1893/IS:456/IS:800/IS:875, AISC/ASCE/ACI/Eurocodes as applicable).

Lead model reviews (2D/3D) and clash resolution with other disciplines (Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Architecture).

Project & Interface Management

Plan C&S; scope, define WBS, develop estimates, and monitor progress against schedule and budget.

Coordinate with geotechnical, seismic, architectural, and MEP inputs; incorporate vendor data and client comments.

Support procurement (technical bid evaluations, vendor drawings), construction (method statements, site queries), and commissioning as needed.

Participate in constructability reviews, value engineering, and design risk assessments.

Leadership & Quality

Mentor/design check work of junior engineers and detailers; set quality benchmarks and review checklists.

Implement QA/QC processes, drawing control, revision management, and lessons learned capture.

Must Have Qualifications & Experience

Master's degree in civil engineering - Structural Engineering.





12-14 years of relevant C&S; design experience in industrial (oil & FMCG/chemicals) buildings and (commercial/residential) projects.

Strong command of applicable codes and seismic/wind design provisions.

Proven track record delivering multi disciplinary projects and leading small engineering teams.

Software Proficiency (role dependent)

Structural Analysis/Design: STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, RAM.

Steel/RC Detailing: Tekla Structures, RebarCAD, AutoCAD, Advanced Steel.

CAD/BIM: AutoCAD, Revit (C&S;), Navisworks for model reviews; understanding of 3D model coordination.

General: MS Office/Excel for calc sheets; experience with engineering document control systems (e.g., Aconex/EDMS) is a plus.

Deep structural engineering fundamentals (load path, stability, ductility, foundation behavior, dynamic/seismic design).

Constructability mindset and familiarity with execution methods and site constraints.

Explicit technical writing; ability to produce high quality calculations, specifications, and design notes.

Stakeholder management: client meetings, technical presentations, and cross discipline coordination.

Team leadership: task planning, mentoring, peer reviews, and conflict resolution.

Risk & change management; proactive issue identification and closure.

Integrity, ownership, and on schedule delivery under pressure.
